View Full Version : Coruscant Tales: Dinner for Three...

OOC: (This is an offshoot thread from "A Trip to Coruscant")

(It was nearly eight o'clock. Both Sanis and Daleethria continued to watch a prime-time sitcom on the holoprojector. Neither were really watching, instead they were using it as an excuse to help time pass quicker. Sanis leaned over, placing a hand on Daleethria's shoulder)

Don't worry...we'll get through this. Lets just play it cool.

(Daleethria nodded slowly, smiling in spite of the nervousness. As Sanis turned back to watch the sitcom, he laughed to himself. Was he really in any more danger than he was at any other time? Sure, the deciding factor now was that he knew how much hot water he was in. Most of the time, he was usually in good spirits, and winging it. Sanis sighed audibly. Perhaps he was letting that boistrous cat-chick get to him a little too much.

Sanis laughed as one of the sitcom stars was locked out of the bathroom in nothing but his underwear.

Yeah...that was it. He was making a mountain out of a hill. Sanis smiled. He would play it cool.

Suddenly, a loud knock thumped rhythmically against the stamped durasteel of the hangar door. Daleethria turned to the door immediately, and Sanis looked back over his shoulder in its direction. Sanis raised an eyebrow...must be Miss Reeouurra.

Sanis paused long enough to check his wrist-mounted blaster, before covering it with the sleeve of his jacket. He looked at Daleethria, and she smiled slightly and nodded.

Casually, Sanis walked toward the door, and opened it.)

Her danger sensed informed Daleethria that their guest had approached the door. When she heard the knock, her head quickly turned around and she stood up. Everything in her power over the Force was extended and ready for anything. This strange half breed of an alien might be feared for her atrocities ... but she never ran into someone that could be quicker, faster and far deadlier if she had to be.

Daleethria's eyes followed Sanis to the door and she decided to meet Sasseeri as well. She stood to the right of the door and waited for her to enter

Some time before...[/b]

Sasseeri sat, visibly nervous and exited, in her rather cramped and cluttered office, the sun-shades in the transparisteel windows set to half. For the umpteenth time, her fingers rubbed the glass on the chronometer let into the wooden top of her desk.

Another four hours to go.

She got up, also for the umpteeth time, and began to pace the little space by the window, every now and then kicking aside one of the small boxes littering the ground. Someone really would have to clean out this office!!!

Snarling and growling, she returned to her desk and fell into her chair once again. The nerf-hide leather creaked.

She wrinkled her brow, and reached for the button to activate the comm-line, when the comm went active and, with a buzz of static, the sound of a man's voice rang out into the silent office.

"You wanted to see me about something?"

Sasseeri slammed her fist down on the desk-top, angered.

"By the Emperrrorrr's Dualjitjies, wherrre have you been? jI told you to rrreporrrt back jin jin person, not overrr the comm!! Wherrre arrre you, you lazy lump???"

The voice over the comm coughed, and a burst of static screamed at her. Sasseeri clamped her hands over her ears and screamed back at the comm.

"Onslaught, jI don't carrre wherrre you arrre - as long as you get yourrr damn butt down herrre. NOW!"

The static cleared, and his voice rang out loud and clear again, sounding somewhat strained.

"Uh.. boss - I'm about half-way around the planet. And with the traffic now.. you know. I'll be there, but it won't be anytime soon. Four, five hours from now, probably."

Sasseeri ground her fist on the table, cursing. This was no good to her - she would have to call in Olorin instead. Still, back-up was always good.

"You know Paynean's by the Shore? jIt's a fancy sort of rrrestaurrrant down by the lake. Go therrre strajight when you arrrrjive. Stay at the barrr - jI'll keep an eye on jit and jI'll see you when you'rrre therrre. jI'll let you know what to do then."

As an afterthought, she added:

"Oh, and keep an eye out forrr Olorrrjin. You'rrre hjis back-up. jIf he messes up, you stand jin forrr hjim."

She cut the comm-link off before he had time to answer back. Then she called for Olorin.

Ten minutes later, everything was settled - all the pieces were in place. Now nothing could go wrong.

Several hours later, at Sanis Prent's hangar

Her hands were definately sweaty as she knocked against the durasteel door. She wiped them on her scanty skirt, ruffling the material even more than it was supposed to. She was wearing a skin-tight outfit bound to take the breath away from every man. It looked fairly severe at the front, cut high, but it was cut very low at the back, leaving most of her skin showing. The blue-black material shimmered with every step, casting a rainbow of colour around her.

Her heart beat fast, throbbing inside her chest almost as loudly as the knocking sounds her hands made on the door.

Two of her goons stood discreetly at each side of the door, looking to all the world as if they had nothing better to do than stand there looking into space.

The door opened.

(Sanis opened the door, keeping a rather calm face until he saw Miss Reeouurra.

Damn. She was dressed to kill, wasn't she? Sanis played with the idea in the back of his mind that if he had met up with Miss Reeouurra a month ago, and she wasn't one of the most dangerous women in the galaxy, he would probably have a lot of fun with her.

Sanis glanced back slightly at Daleethria.

As it stood, Sanis' tastes had decidedly changed. Oh how irony worked.

Sanis turned back to look at Sasseeri. The girl looked about as high-strung as she seemed eariler in the day...maybe even more so. Sanis decided to cut the tension with a courteous smile.)

Glad you could make it, Miss Reeouurra.

(Sanis turned around slightly)

Dalee, get your coat. Our guest is here.

(Sanis once again faces Sasseeri. It was a rather crisp Coruscant evening, yet Miss Reeouurra was seemingly oblivious to it, judging from the decidedly skimpy get-up she was wearing. The weird vibe returned to Sanis, as he remembered what MARCUS had told him. Whatever happened in the next few hours, Sanis had to stay in control)

Are you ready to go?

Daleethria
Feb 15th, 2001, 07:39:39 PM
Daleethria grabbed her black cloak and put it on slowly. There had to be a way to get Sanis out of this situation without causing death. She just needed to figure out a way to do that. Perhaps when it was clear what Daleethria's capablities were, Sasseeri will leave him alone. A strange thought occurred to her. Even Sanis didn't know what her full capabilities were. It was true he saw her sabre, but that didn't give away much since Daleethria never displayed any overt Force powers.

She was drawn to protect him ever since she first met him at Yog's, but now something odd gnawed at her gut. Daleethria was afraid of what Sanis would think of her if he really knew what she was and what she could do ...

... then it finally hit her that there were two presences outside the door. Sanis was obilvious and she didn't know how to be able to tell him discreetly without given herself away. Well, there was one way and hopefully Sanis would be able to play it smooth.

Daleethria came up and took his arm in hers and stared blankly at the Vigo. For Sanis, a rather soft and mellow voice filled Sanis' mind, calming him as each word was heard.

She brought two of her men with her, Sanis.

Sasseeri Reeouurra
Feb 15th, 2001, 07:50:44 PM
She smiled openly at Sanis, and the smile was more than an open invitation to do anything he wanted to her. Her knees felt oddly gelatinous, as he smiled back.

Oh great skies, woman, get yourself under control again! she thought, angry at herself.

"Of courrrse - jI am always rrready."

The smile faded as that woman of his stepped up beside him to take his arm. What did he call her? Dalee? What sort of an idiotic name was that???

No, this was not good. The woman had to go.

But Sasseeri was too well schooled to let her anger show, at least outwardly. So she just gestured to her two bodyguards to keep at distance, when she grabbed Sanis' other arm and more or less dragged both of them down the sparsely lit street.

The two goons remained standing at the door for a while, one idly picking his teeth, until the other shrugged, having waited for full 2 minutes, then both of them left their positions and followed after the trio.

(Sanis was working to keep up with Sasseeri's pace as she led them down the street. He looked back at Daleethria, who also trailed behind the nimble woman. He leaned towards her and whispered)

Hey...did you say something, Dalee?

(Sanis' brow creased...he could've sworn she had said something about Sasseeri having two men with her. Going on the hunch, Sanis looked around, but couldn't see anybody who looked like they would be following. Hmm...great, now he was hearing voices in his head.

Sanis turned back to Sasseeri, who continued to walk quickly toward the restaruant, several blocks away. She held onto his arm like a vice...not hurting him, but definitely not letting go.

This was rather bizarre. Why would she walk to the restaurant? Sanis had a speeder, yet she preferred to go by foot.

Sanis looked around him, trying to notice anythins suspicious. Hmm...maybe she just wanted to make sure that he didn't have a getaway vehicle in case something happened.

Sanis raised an eyebrow. The girl was good, he had to give her that.

Behind Sanis, Daleethria was having difficulty keeping pace as well. Sanis reached back with his free hand, holding on to hers. He looked back at her and smiled.)

Daleethria
Feb 15th, 2001, 08:16:44 PM
Daleethria calmed her mind and tried to block the pain that she felt from communicating this way. Being around Sanis for as long as she has now, Daleethria could attempt such a feat. Normally, all her concentration was needed to keep processing all the sensory information that flooded into her brain. Considering that Sasseeri was also trying to loose her by walking fast, that didn't help things either.

Drawing upon the Force with the serenity that she brought to clear her mind, her movements became faster and it was now easy to keep pace. Her eyes widened somewhat, pleased to see Sanis smiling at her and she actually returned it in kind.

She looked into his hazel eyes and tried to make him understand.

Sanis, you aren't hearing voices. This is me, Daleethria talking to you through your thoughts. There are two men following us and I can keep track of them, through the Force. Also, Sasseeri wishes me gone. She may try to get rid of me.

Her teeth bared as she grimaced in pain from the concentration of keeping the connection, her mind being overwhelmed with information. Swallowing hard and taken a moment to collect herself, she got it under control.

I won't leave your side.

(The trio continued walking down the sidewalk...approaching the commercial section of this sub-area. Sanis let his mind linger on the voices in his head. It was...Daleethria? How could that be? Maybe...that was why she never spoke? Sanis' mind began to spin in a blur of thought. Daleethria was the biggest enigma he had ever seen before, and every second she was near him caused even more questions, and yet drove him to know her better.

Sanis' thought were interrupted as Sasseeri attempted some idle chit-chat along the way. It was the usual talk when one simply wanted to bide their time, and Sanis continued to think about Daleethria, replying to Sasseeri when necessary.

After a few minutes, a large white building came into view. It didn't have the modernistic look of other buildings. Instead, it was rustic and classical, with exotic plants growing around it.)

Well, here we are. Paynean's by the Shore.

(Sanis led the group into the beautiful restaurant. He walked to the Maitre D's podium, letting him know that the party of three for Sanis Prent had arrived. He checked off Sanis' name on the list, and led the three to their seat.)

Kal Olorin
Feb 15th, 2001, 09:51:35 PM
Kal watches people entering the restaurant. So far, no sign of Sasseeri. Cloaked by the partial darkness of the alleyway. He knew that noone would see him. All he had to do was wait for Sasseeri to appear.

a while after Kal had got there, he saw Sasseeri. She was walking with two people, one male and the other female. Watching them enter the restaurant, he slowly sneaks out of the alley, and checks noone saw him. Making sure he looks presentable, the hitman walks into the building, and takes a place at the bar. Turning his head slightly, he catches Sasseeri's gaze. She looked at him, the scratched her right ear. He gave a slight nod back, then turned back.
All go...

Sasseeri Reeouurra
Feb 16th, 2001, 12:14:25 AM
A satified grin stood on Sasseeri's face. Olorin was in place, as arranged, and he didn't even stand out that much. The hitman wasn't one of the most muscular men in her little personal army, so she felt more than a little pleased with herself for having thought of Olorin for the job.

She felt less pleased when that woman took her place next to Sanis at the table, leaving her sitting at the other side of the table on her own, facing both of them.

On the other hand - this would only give Olorin a better view of events, as now his target was facing him directly. if worst came to worst, he wouldn't even have to leave his place at the bar to take her out.

Sasseeri licked her lips as the waiters pressed the button inlaid in the table, and their menu appeared in very clear holographs over their table.

Momentarily, her mind was filled with the 112 different varieties of fish and assorted other delicacies. The added silhouette of Sanis shimmering through the background of the holo made her mouth water even more.

Of course she coulnd't make up her mind. After all... it was fish! Her feline instincts took over at that word usually, and this time was no different.

The baked Calamarian crawfish.
The Aqualian grilled Duna steak.
Giant Corellian Deep-sea crabs in sour Melandra sauce.
The poached Mussok.

She had to have it all.

Daleethria
Feb 16th, 2001, 12:42:08 AM
Daleethria looked over the menu and marked off a vegetarian delicacy for when the waiter came to their table. Sniffing the air, she could tell that Sasseeri was quite hungry from the faint smell of saliva in the air that hovered near her. Musing over the situation, it was apparent that the Vigo had no clue that Daleethria knew what was going on. It was already suspicious that her bodyguards didn't follow her into the restaurant. Someone else must be working for her. Her eyes scanned the room casually until she found a somewhat out of place man at the bar. He was alone and by what she could tell, had a buldge coming from his jacket coat. Her senses processed the visual of the man in a spilt second and turned her attention to Sanis.

She smiled once quickly and waited for the waiter patiently. All the while telling Sanis what was really going on. Before she spoke, a visual of the Vigo's goon flashed right before Sanis' eyes.

That man has to work for Sasseeri. The surface thoughts that I am picking up from him are confirming it.

Sanis Prent
Feb 16th, 2001, 01:03:48 AM
(Sanis was unsure how it was happening, but somehow Daleethria was communicating in his mind...telling him what she knew for herself. Maybe he was going crazy, but Sanis made a leap of faith, and listened to the voices in his head. As the images and thoughts she gave him flashed through his mind, all he could think was...

...you have such a beautiful voice.

Sanis reached for his glass of water. As he took a sip, Daleethria's mind reached out to him, showing him the face of a man he had not seen before. She then told Sanis that he was one of Sasseeri's men.

Sanis finished the long sip of water, dabbing his mouth slightly with the corner of a napkin. As he placed the napkin back in his lap, his hand slipped under the table, thumbing off the safety of a small Duronian "Gentleman" handblaster, secured within his pocket. He removed the gun from his pocket, placing it in his more-accessible coat pocket, still out of sight from Sasseeri or her henchman.

The waiter finally began to ask Sanis what he would like to order. Sanis was taken slightly off-guard by this, and fumbled his water glass slightly as he sat it down on the table. To be honest, Sanis hadn't even thought about looking at the menu yet. Trying to be as brief as possible, Sanis looked for something that would do for the evening.)

Uh, waiter...I'll have the Ubrikkian Zyn-bass. Blackened, please.

(The waiter nodded and walked off, the holographic menus dissipating from the table. Sanis stretched slightly in his seat, and looked at Daleethria. He nodded almost inperceptively. He then turned back to Sasseeri, removing a small datapad from his pocket. He then looked into Sasseeri's deep blue eyes. It was time to play businessman.)

So...Vigo Reeouurrra, what brings you here? I normally don't have customers with such preceeding reputations, especially leaders of underworld empires. This is either a big job, a secret job, or no job at all...and there's something else on the dockett entirely.

(Sanis kept a poker face, but inside he was beginning to freak out. He couldn't believe he had the testicular fortitude to talk to a Vigo like that! But then again, he couldn't play the part of a "Yes-Man", or else she would eat him up and spit him out. He wasn't about to be walked all over, and he was even prepared to take a few liberties to keep that from happening.

Sanis reached down, once again sipping his water, and waiting for a response from the felinoid Vigo.)

Sasseeri Reeouurra
Feb 16th, 2001, 01:27:57 AM
She nearly choked on her delicately-spiced Corellian Leem-juice. How did he know...?

Almost instantly, her anger took over. Of course - a man of his caliber would not possibly come unprepared to such a meeting. Well, that just raised the stakes, but was not anything to worry about. In fact, she felt rather pleased that he had taken the time to check up on her. Maybe that was a good sign?

The possibilities rolled through her mind, her nostrils twitching slightly. Of course, she had not come unprepared for this "business meeting", but now she would have to re-think her carefully laid out plan before presenting it to him.

She needed more time for that.

Her eyes fell once more on the woman next to Sanis - the woman who smiled sweetly at her, looking to all the world like innocence personified.

Somehow, maybe by some instinct, she just knew that that woman had to have something to do with everything. She couldn't quite explain what, but it would come to her. That sweet insipid smile just had to hide something...

Well, sweetie, apparently, you know how to play that game... but we'll see who comes out victorious.

Sasseeri decided to play this the subtle, soothing way. When pushed into a corner, always give in. That was what she would do. For now.

In an almost cat-like purr, she addressed Sanis, looking straight into his eyes.

"Well, yes, jit seems you have done yourrr homeworrk, Mrrr Prrrent - or mjight jI call you Sanjis? That sounds so much njicer... Yes, you arrre jindeed corrrrrect jin establjishjing my jidentjity. jI am jin fact a memberrr of that most charrritable orrrganjisation."

Well, charitable wasn't the best expression, but it was always a good idea to bring in a bit of black humour. Under the table, she slipped one foot out of her velvet slipper and slowly felt along the soft carpet until her toes met with resistance from something hard and leathery. Her foot began tracing up a pants leg - his pants leg.

That should buy her some time, whatever the reaction would be.

(As Sanis took a sip of water, he felt something brush against his leg. In suprise, Sanis took in a bit more water than he intended. Quickly regaining control of the situation, Sanis swallowed heavily, still holding his glass of water. He looked at Daleethria, who was staring straight ahead at Sasseeri.

The brush against his leg was just a prelude. Sanis could now feel something rubbing up and down the side of his ankle, ever so slowly working its way higher up the leg. If Daleethria was double jointed, she still wouldn't be able to pull that off, not like Sanis thought she would be in the category of usual suspects. No, the answer to this question was very straight forward...as in straight ahead.

Sasseeri stared straight into Sanis' eyes, smiling in a rather sultry fashion...but with an edge to it all that him quite uncomfortable.

Okay. Damage control. Time to take control of the situation.)

Well then, Vigo...

(Sasseeri's foot crept higher up Sanis' leg, as the felinoid licked her lips slightly.)

...if you could, please explain to me...

(The foot slid higher, and higher...and...)

Eh-Hem!

(The foot retreated slowly. Sanis stared at Sasseri, trying to gauge her, but the look she had in her eye defied explanation. Well...back to the matter at hand)

...why have you asked for me? If it is for a job, I'd like to get down to business, Vigo. I realize you're a very powerful woman, but I'd appreciate it if we were on the level, here.

(Sanis leaned back, his eyes occasionally scanning from left to right, searching for Reeourra's other thug. He turned his attention back to Sasseeri, waiting for her answer. Just as she was about to say something, the waiter came to the table with the food.)

Sasseeri Reeouurra
Feb 16th, 2001, 03:54:35 PM
Well, that had worked nicely after all. She had no intention to talk about business when there was fish.

Her eyes still occasionally glancing at the woman at Sanis' side, she decided to forego using the eating utensils and just dug her claws into the pieces of sumptuous fish, ripping them cleanly off the bones, before stuffing them into her mouth.

FISH!!!

Oh, how she loved fish! Maybe even more than men.

Her fangs chomped down on the meaty tasting pieces with little snarls and grunts. Everything else was forgotten for now. Swallowing noisily, she gulped down the entire piece of Calamarian crawfish in one go.

Those Deep-sea crabs were delicious. She dug her fangs into one, peeling the meat out of the shell, then spit out the remaining shell-pieces in the general direction of her plate, showering the table top in a rain of little meaty bits and spittle. Not bothering to dunk them into the sauce, Sasseeri simply took up the little dish and drank the sauce out of the cup. Brown sauce was running down her chin, and she licked it up greedily with her tongue.

She took a sip from her Lemm-juice, having stilled her first ravening hunger. Then a loud burp escaped her lips as she sat back and patted her stomach contentedly, looking at the remaining fish-dishes.

Two down, two more to go.

Daleethria
Feb 16th, 2001, 05:33:58 PM
Daleethria reached her hand over to cover Sanis' as she could feel the intentions pratically oozing off Sasseeri's surface thoughts. Why did she feel her cheeks getting red? These physical sensations were so foreign to her. Something that she would have to meditate on later. Right now, protecting Sanis was her priority.

Releasing his hand, she picked up a fork and began to eat her vegetable platter ... then stopped. For most beings, the way Sasseeri ate her dinner, their stomachs would heave and they would loose their appetite. Daleethria on the other hand found it fascinating. How could one love fish that much?

Her blue eyes locked onto the feeding frenzy that was being displayed before her with the same neutral expression that she normally had.

(Sanis watched, mouth agape, at Sasseeri tear into her meal. Great. What a diversion this was! Sanis had a feeling that the Vigo was going to be absolutely unreachable until everything edible on her side of the table had been duly dispatched.

Sanis made a concerted effort to keep his hands on his side of the table. With Sasseeri voraciously attacking anything within her grasp, he might reach for the salt and not come back with an arm.

Well...by the pace she was going, she would be done rather quickly anyways, despite the fact she ordered enough to feed six. Sanis decided that he could wait a little, at least. Turning to Daleethria, he noticed her calm eyes staring straight ahead at the Vigo. Seemed the whole spectacle was rather interesting for her.

Interesting wasn't the way Sanis would've put it. As a guy, he liked a woman who could eat as much as the next man, but this was ridiculous. She was noisier, messier, and had less tact than most of his Outer Rim partners in crime. That was saying quite a bit, as Sanis tried to focus all of his attention on his blackened fish. As a spatter of brown sauce landed on his arm, he began to realize his appetite was waning.

Quickly, Sanis began to eat his food, because if he didn't, Sasseeri would either eat it before he had the chance, or disgust him even further.

Nonchalantly, Sanis dabbed the corner of his mouth with his napkin. He looked across at Sasseeri, hoping she would catch the subtle hint. Somehow, he doubted she would, though.)

Feb 16th, 2001, 10:50:00 PM
:: Onslaught watches from the roof the trio enter the Restaurant. He takes off his night vision gaggles and places them in his black bag, from the same bag he pulls out several weapons, A small black blaster with a silencer, several black knives, two proton Grenades and a fully automatic blaster rifle which has been chopped. He places the blaster rifle over his shoulder in a sling, one knife in his boot, one in his chest pocket and the other on his belt, he puts the grenades in his inner pocket in his over coat...

He puts on his Black over coats his way off the roof by ladder, he places his black bag behind a dumpster. He presses a small black button on his belt buckle and his armored outer shell disappears into his large over coat, he walks to the front of the restaurant and opens the doors, he makes his way to the bar and sits next to Olorin, the bartender asks whats he wants to drink, Onslaught replies Whiskey and the bartender sets it down in front of him...

Onslaught sips the glass of Whiskey and looks through the mirror at the back of the bar to see the trio sitting at a table, he slides a small piece of paper to Olorin on it it says:

I am Onslaught, Sasseeri Reeouurrahired me to kill Dalee, but now I will be your back up

:: Olorin reads it and nods slightly and slids it back to Onslaught, he puts the paper in his pocket and takes another sip. his mind goes blank ::

With a mournful look, she gulped down the last crumbs of the Mussok and stared at her empty plates. All fish was gone now.

Her eyes wandered over to Sanis' plate, but that was empty. And the woman didn't look too interested in her own dish, but so neither was Sasseeri. Vegetarians! Phhhht! That was one thing she'd never been able to understand, but then again - she wasn't really surprised that the woman had turned out to be a vegetarian.

Leaning backwards in her seat, she took up her drink that someone had re-filled in the meantime, and drank from it, noisily slurping its sugary contents. She threw a quick look over her shoulder as she did so, and her gaze fell on "Onslaught" who had just sat down next to Olorin.

Then she belched loudly, which managed to turn the heads of the occupants of several neighbouring tables. Sasseeri gave them a broad grin and waved at the waiter, who obediently turned the sound-muffling barrier up that secluded every table from the others at request.

Sasseeri turned her attention back to Sanis and his companion.

"We werrre talkjing about busjiness, no? Well, jI shall be frrrank wjith you, Sanjis..."

During the following 10 minutes, she outlined the current situation within Black Sun, her own position, and several other matters that should never have reached the ears of anyone outside Black Sun. But she had already begun thinking of Sanis as her own, and of the woman as history. It would be no danger.

She stopped once to dispatch an annoying bit of fish-bone from between her fangs with her claw, and take another sip from her drink. It was time for the plan to start working.

Sanis Prent

(Sanis listened to Sasseeri speak, as she talked about some of her business affairs. From the level of detail in which she discussed the inner-workings of the Sector Rangers, it was rather obvious to Sanis that he was being approached to assist the Sector Rangers internally, or more specifically, to assist Sasseeri in whatever she had planned for the organization.

Sanis looked toward Daleethria. If she noticed anything fishy about the story Sasseeri was giving, she certainly wasn't letting him know...if she had let him know anything at all before. Oh well...so it was Sanis' first time at chatting with a telepath, guess he'd learn the ropes later.

As Sasseeri continued, Sanis began to draw out a mental picture of everything she told him. From her story, it seemed as if there was some sort of dissention in the upper hierarchy of Sasseeri's group. This led to a couple of outcomes that Sanis could think up, from smuggling, to robbery, to worse. It wasn't the job in itself that Sanis worried about, but whom the job would impact. It was one thing to work for a group like Sasseeri's, but it was something else entirely to be contracted out by them when they needed to "clean house".

If Sanis didn't play off the whole scheme flawlessly, he may just stir up a hornet's nest in the process. At that point, Sasseeri would be the least of his concerns.

In the back of his mind, Sanis began weighing the options, and for the first time, actually considering employment under Miss Reeouurra.)

When she had satisfied herself that her fangs were clean again, she flashed him a grin. That he didn't say anything, she took for a good sign.

She worried about the message though. It should have arrived by now - she had ordered her droid to patch it through at 9.30pm. The droid was either getting sloppy, or someone had been messing with internal clock again. It had to be much later than that already.

But as she was about to get down to the details of Sanis' involvement in her affairs, the waiter approached the table, in an appropriate fawning way.

"Is there a Miss Dalee here? There seems to be a message to you on our guest comm-line. The caller indicated that she would be at this table."

Daleethria

As Sanis was thinking about Daleethria not giving any indication if Sasseeri was being ... not completely truthful, he finally heard her voice once more.

Do not work with this woman. She has far more then business plans that she wishes to discuss. The Vigo has this incessant need to ... mate with you. I don't understand her biological need for it at all. Perhaps it is because she is a half breed that it is confusing me more.

She stopped for a moment and then almost as an afterthought, sent something else.

Thank you ... for the compliment. On my voice. Why did you say such a thing? I don't understand.

Then she heard her name ... but it wasn't her name. Only Sanis called her Dalee so she looked at the waiter with confusion. No one knew that she would be here. Her sister, Navaria, was safe with the Jedi and Dalethria ... well, she was somewhere, but far from her once homeworld of Coruscant.

A thought came to her head that wasn't hers and her eyes casually looked to Sasseeri. She set this up. The waiter coming to the table caused the Vigo to think about her set-up.

Looking at the waiter again she smiled.

There is no Dalee here. You have the wrong table.

The waiter looked stunned for a moment and blinked a few times. He scratched his head and held his hands up.

"My mistake. This isn't the right table. Please, enjoy your meal."

And with that, the waiter left the three of the alone once more.

(Sanis' eyes widened as he took a shot of the house bourbon the waiter had brought. Painfully, he gulped the brown liquor down, thinking about what Daleethria had thought into his mind.

Sasseeri wants to mate with me? Hmmm...well, Sanis thought, maybe this wasn't exactly a shock to him, considering the rather lustful oogle she was engaging in, the faint ribbon of drool in the corner of her mouth, and her rather-aggressive game of divide and conquer footsie she was playing. Sanis began to think. Damn, she was about the most obvious flirt he'd ever seen, and he'd seen Tattooine hookers fawn over a 100 credit chit, and even they weren't so...gung-ho.

Sanis raised an eyebrow as he stared at the felinoid. If this was just her case of light flirting....

...Sanis shuddered slightly...

...he didn't exactly want to ponder the question of what would happen if he landed in her care. Sure, Sanis liked to freak as much as the next cosmopolitan male, but he was sure that Sasseri's idea of games were a little too...wild, even for his standards.

Sanis broke his train of thought as Sasseeri licked away the stringlet of spittle that had grown. Shaking away the thought of being tied down and clawed up by Miss Reeouurra, Sanis once again turned his attention to Daleethria. She didn't understand his compliment of her voice. Sanis wanted to give her an immediate answer, but....couldn't. As much as he thought about it, anything he said just didn't fit the bill. What did he mean, anyways? Sanis just couldn't rationalize it. He meant it, sure enough, but couldn't form a reason with words. It was just...beautiful, her voice in his head. It was like he imagined it would be, but so different when he heard it that way.

Sanis turned to see the waiter coming to the table. He proceeded to announce that there was a message for Dalee. Sanis scratched his head slightly. A message? Who else knew her? She didn't mention anyone. However, almost as soon as he said it, he seemed to retract it, saying that he had made a mistake. As the waiter trod off, Sanis watched him leave, utterly confused by the situation. He turned to Daleethria.)

Huh? What was that about?

What??? What was going on?

Sasseeri was about to slam her fist down onto the table in frustration that her plan obviously hadn't worked, when she realised that that would be just a little too obvious.

She had no idea why or how it hadn't worked out - everyone always had some kind of curiosity at least if there was an anonymous call, and she had been sure that "Dalee" was the correct name of the woman.

Well, time for plan B.

She leant over the table, whispering at Sanis in a conspirational tone.

"Let us talk about yourrr rrrole jin all thjis."

As she leant forward, her hand set down the re-filled glass of Leem-juice to her left, placing it so that she would have a good shot at Dalee.

(Sanis leaned back in his seat...so they were finally ready to get down to the heart of the matter. Sanis' mind wandered back to Daleethria. He knew she had strong reservations about him even considering working for Sasseeri, and hell, Sanis had the same reservations himself. But there was no denying the possibilities of this endeavor from a business approach. It was one of those chances that only came around a few times in a man's life. Sure, it wasn't the safest or smartest thing he'd ever considered, but it just might be one of the most lucrative.

So then, it really was no suprise that despite the apparent danger, Sanis was all ears when it came to this "job")

Alright, lets get down to the heart of the matter, then.

Daleethria
Feb 20th, 2001, 03:02:18 AM
Mentally she sighed, something that even Sanis picked up. Most things did not bother her, but Daleethria was starting to learn about the feeling of being annoyed. Sasseeri just would not give up. Just the movement of her body, how she breathes, and especially the eyes. Eyes can tell alot about what a person was thinking and with this half feline being, Daleethria's demise and or embarassment was always there. She didn't need her danger sense to know what the criminal wanted to do with that glass full of Leem-juice.

Sanis started to speak up again, still interested in hearing this being out.

Sanis. Working with a woman that is plotting my demise at every step is alright with you?

(As Sanis began to talk about the job with Sasseeri, he pondered what Daleethria asked.

No, Sasseeri wouldn't get to Dalee...she'd have to get past him, first. Besides, Sanis would control the flow of things here, and he wouldn't put Daleethria in a position to be harmed. He could have his cake and eat it too...it just took a little planning and a lot of personality, which Sanis could work with.

He looked over at Daleethria, and smiled. He hoped she would understand what he was doing. Sanis only risked if he knew he would win in the end, and he wouldn't dare risk Daleethria like that. She would be safe.)

As the waiter walks to their table, Kal smiles. When the woman leaves, it is time for the fireworks. Reaching into his jacket, he checked his blaster was ready. He hoped it wouldn't be used, but it's always best to have a backup.

and then, he leaves them. Kal spins on his chair to face the bar, a look of uncertancy on his face. Whats going on? She should be leaving the table! Thoughts raced through his head. Did Sasseri plan to get him? No, impossible. He hadn't done anything to upset her. Something had gone wrong though.

Wondering what to do now, he turned his head slightly to the table, hoping for some sort of response from Sasseeri

She winked at him. It would be almost impossible for him not to understand the real meaning of her words. No one would hire a man like Sanis Prent as a negotiator - no, he would know what she meant.

As she was talking, her left hand edged forward a little more, until it came to lie flat on the table next to the full glass. One push was all it needed, and she hoped she would get an opportunity to execute her new plan.

Keeping her eyes on Sanis, she waited for his response.

(Sanis breathed out slowly. So that was it, huh? He was thinking it was something in that direction from her description, and now he had been confirmed.

Sanis licked his lips, and took another drink of the house Bourbon, letting the sting of the alcohol clear his thoughts.

Pros: GREAT chance for a big payment, not to mention the ability to drop his name by some of the big shots in the business, which would only lead to more employment options throughout the Core systems. He would be king of the hill.

Cons: Where to start? He trusted Sasseeri about as far as he could spit. Her motives, while unannounced, seemed rather disturbing, judging from what Daleethria had told him, combined with her lewd behavior. Also, the plan held a very high risk of failure, and failure meant getting filled full of blaster shot and left for dead in a Coruscant alley, which didn't really appeal to Sanis at all. Not to mention, even if the plan went off without a hitch, it didn't guarantee that others wouldn't come after Sanis after everything was done. Sanis could possibly end up having to deal with Sector Rangers troubles for the rest of his life.

Sanis raised an eyebrow. Well, it was an interesting enough idea, he'd have to admit. Now, whether Miss Reeouurra was ready to bargain on the price, it just might be something Sanis could work with.

Sanis reached across the table, grabbing a napkin. He slid it over to his side of the table, and began to think of a number...high enough to bid down to what he wanted, but not too high, because Sasseeri might scoff at the obvious price-gouging.

Once Sanis thought of a number he considered to balance well, he pulled out a pen, and scribbled down a number on the napkin. He capped the pen, and smiled.)

Miss Reeouurra, the price of negotiators around here can be a little high. I hope you know what you want.

(Sanis slid the napkin to Sasseeri's side of the table. On it, in black ink, it said...

7,000,000 Cr.

Sanis clasped his hands on the table, and awaited Sasseeri's response.)

7 Million????? Was he out of his mind??????

Sasseeri didn't know if she should be more angry or more surprised - 7 million was a lot more than she'd be willing to pay, even if it was to him. She had other plans than to make him rich and happy on his own.

She let some of her surprise bleed off into her actions, seeing the perfect opportunity in this situation to carry out the plan. She brought up her hand sharply, knocking against the glass it had previously been resting against.

The glass went flying over the table into Dalee's direction.

She hid her own actions by shouting out aloud at him.

"WHAT??????"

Even Daleethria couldn't believe that Sanis was that crazy enough to ask for that kind of credits. Then her next thought was yes, he was that crazy enough to do something like that. He always liked living on the edge so why should someone like Sasseeri stature intimidate him. To many people, this underworld crime lord would be considered very unpredictable. For one of Daleethria's talents, quite blatantly obvious.

No moment, not a blink of the eye, nothing to show her surprise at the glass coming her way, Daleethria remained impassive. A little control over the Force and the glass arced away from her and spilled all over the floor.

Sanis? This is getting stupid.

(Sanis smirked a little in the midst of Sasseeri's rage. Okay, so seven million was definitely pushing the envelope. Sanis figured he would be high in that estimation, but he wanted to figure out exactly how high.

As Sanis began to work down to his true price range, Sasseeri's anger got the better of her, as she swatted at her glass, knocking it into Daleethria's lap. As the liquid sloshed out of the glass, it suddenly changed directions, instead splashing onto the floor. As several cleaning droids came to dispose of the mess, Sanis could only stare at Daleethria. There was something more to this. Sanis narrowed his eyes...

...what is it you aren't telling me? I've never seen anybody do anything like that. Are you a Jedi?

As Sanis looked into her icy blue eyes, she seemed to sigh at him. He knew she was not happy with the meeting with Sasseeri, and she wanted little part of it. Sanis could understand that her patience was waning. He slowly nodded to her, almost inperceptibly. They would be done with this soon.

Turning back to Sasseeri, Sanis began to haggle the price. This is where he got to show how good he really was. In the back of his mind, Sanis was thinking realistically closer to one million for the job, but he wanted to see how far he could push the rather-assertive felinoid.)

Alright, Sasseeri, how much is this thing worth to you? I've done house-cleanings before, and they have a history of having some recurring issues. I'm almost certain that the nature of this job ensures that there will be reprocussions for me down the road...and not all of them will be pretty. I quote you seven million, because I honestly can't be sure if this won't come back to haunt my business relationships. If you really need the job done, I could go as low as five, but you're catching me on a rare charity day. If you want cheaper than that...why not find some snot-brained Gamorrean. I'm pricey for a reason.

Sasseeri was getting frustrated. This was not working out as planned. How did that damned woman manage to be so lucky???

She cast a very worried look over her shoulder, to Olorin and Onslaught sitting at the bar. Olorin didn't look much less frustrated, his hand twitching slightly and now and then reaching into his coat for the blaster hidden there, then faling down before he could reach it, as if he'd remembered in time that this wasn't yet to come.

Well, it would now. Sasseer was at the end of her patience - it would have to be now or never. If nothing got that Dalee woman out of her seat, then a hole in her skull would have to do.

She nodded at Olorin, and his eyes brightened, his face setting into a frimace between anticipation and excitement.

Sasseeri turned her head back at Sanis, and quickly considered the case. 7 Mil was obviously over the top, and so was 5. he knew that as well as she did. But if it was haggling he wanted, she could give him that - at least until the moment Olorin would take out his dumb girlfriend.

She didn't quite know how she would proceed with it yet after that, but she was sure that she could find some logical explanation for having her shot out of her seat next to him. There always was something...

A grin crept back on her face, and she placed her offer.

"Fjive? Yes, jI thjink that jis adequate. Fjive hundrrred thousand, that jis. You don't honestly beljieve that jI don't know yourrr value on the marrrket? You'rrre not that good, trrrukly not."

She turned the fork upside down on the table after the waiter finished cleaning up the spill drink on the floor.

I am neither Sith nor Jedi, Sanis. I exists to serve.

Looking at Sasseeri, Daleethria could feel how frustrated she was becoming. A person like her would be prone to act rash and slip up. Most likely, her subtle approaches to rid herself of Daleethria's presence are going to end. Daleethria wasn't sure what was going to happen but from all the information that she gathered, the men at the bar have something to do with the equation now.

Her danger sense started to tickle the back of her mind and slowly it became stronger. No. She wouldn't be so stupid to try and kill her in public. Taking another look at Sasserri and the way that she wanted Sanis, yes ... she would be that stupid. All her other tiny plans failed and she was close to the breaking point.

Her body tensed, waiting for the inevitable blaster fire that was going to be coming her way.

Daleethria was right. Sasseeri was stupid enough to try and take her out in public. If she was to be that bold then perhaps her own abilities displayed in public might stop this foolishness.

Then the hired thug fired as predicted.

Standing up quickly, a blur to those around her and sitting at her table, Daleethria raised her hand right in front of the blaster bolt that was heading her way. In a blink of an eye, the bolt hit her hand and dissipated. Smoke filled her nostrils from the energy being dispersed and her eyes focused over at the stunned hitman.

She used this opportunity to take advantage of him. Her hand lowered and she pointed two fingers at the thug. He found himself flying over the bar counter and smashing into the shelves that were plentiful with liquor bottles. Daleethria kept her hidden senses trained on the other thug but her cold blue eyes lowered to stare at Sasseeri. Her arm began to lower as well, but stopped when it was at the same level as Sasseeri. She made no move. Didn't even twitch. Just left the feline guessing what she was going to do to her.

Only when Daleethria pointed down at Sasseeri did Sanis regain his composure, drawing his blaster, and looking around. Finally, he looked at Sasseeri.)

Did she really see her get hit by that shot on her hand???

Sasseeri couldn't take her eyes off Dalee's hand. There was no smoking hole in it, nor did it show any signs of any blood or any other kind of damage.

How...???

Her eyes opened wide in terror as she watched Dalee's hand lower, and come to lie ominously on the table. It was as if a strange incredible power was oozing out of that hand, and Sasseeri couldn't stop thinking about it.

Then, suddenly, her mind cleared of the first shock, and a thought came to her. Force powers! The woman had to have Force powers... she was a Jedi... or worse even... a Sith!

Finally, she noticed that Sanis was talking to her. Sasseeri snapped her head back, and looked at him. She had no idea what to say - this was going way over her head. Now she had nothing else to say but...

"Who was that???"

She looked at him, at both of them, with about as much of an innocent air as she could possibly muster.

You know, Sasseeri, that's a damn good question.

(Sanis stepped up on the table, walking to the edge and jumping off to the floor, going around Daleethria. He turned around, smiled, and looked at the two girls.)

Why don't we just go ask him ourselves?

(Sanis walked over to the bar section of the restaurant, and over to the ruined liquor cabinet. Reaching down, he hefted up the gunman by the collar of his coat, lifting him out of a puddle of alcohol. Sanis smiled at the man, as he fixed his jacket collar.)

It had crossed his mind to say who, but the thought instantly left him. He knew very well it would only get worse for him if he said. Because of this answer, another punch met his chin, knocking him down again.

When he regained his senses this time, he was hanging over the ground, and heading for the door. Eventually, he stopped, and looked up at the felinoid.)

Three million, huh?

Well, I suppose I could take up the assignment for that much, although its not quite what I was going for. Then again, I understand that getting my name in your rolodex could prove profitable in other ways.

(Sanis took a drink, and placed his glass back on the table)

Alright then. Three million. You've got yourself a deal.

Yes, he wasn't stupid...something was going on besides the job offer, and Sanis knew that there was something else afoot entirely. She waited for Sanis' word to finish off the woman before her. She could feel the fear coming off of Sasseeri and Daleethria never wanted to kill anyone so badly since she killed Daalethria. This woman was a manipulative piece of filth and her reason for being started to kick in. Such a person had no real reason to cause such chaos and her motives really didn't strive except for personal reasons. A waste of flesh. Daleethria focused on the slim neck of Sasserri and pictured the bones in her mind, waiting to be snapped.

Then the idiot agreed. After all her warnings, promptings to what the feline really wanted, not to mention the attempt on her life, Sanis agreed. It wasn't logical and she had no way to conceive as to why he would do something so foolish as this.

Daleethria continued to stare at the criminal, hoping that if she does something stupid she have reason to kill her.

Daleethria turned to regard Sanis with a raised brow.

"You take care of us? Who was the one blocking blaster bolts. Care to try your hand at that?"

He heard her laugh in his mind and she genuinly smiled right before his very eyes.

Sanis Prent

(Sanis grimaced...

Yeah...uh...eat your salad!

Sanis mulled over and sighed...dammit, she was right! But hey, in some weird way of thinking about it, once again Sanis' luck saved the day. He'd never been let down in the 25 years he'd been alived. Some people were just born lucky, it seemed.

I'll think of something...just don't rub it in, okay.)

Sasseeri Reeouurra

As Sasseeri walked away from the table towards the exit, she made eye contact with the somewhat non-plussed Onslaught. She hoped that he would know what to do from now on.

This had certainly not gone the way she wanted - that woman was still around - but at last she had managed to tie Sanis Prent in with her. From now on, she'd take care that he'd never be without business again.

And sooner or later, she'd catch him on his own.

She was looking forward to that time with great anticipation...

Her bodyguards were still standing outside, picking their teeth. She'd have to find a way to pay them back for their patience. Maybe a little late-night tussle in her quarters when she got back from Ryloth; neither of them looked too bad.

They summoned a speeder, and shortly all three of them were on their way back to her SR quarters.
