View Full Version : The Hunter and a Jedi go shopping

Force Master Hunter
Feb 19th, 2001, 09:21:34 AM
OOC: Something a bit different. This is open, but I ask everyone say out of the way of the two main protagonists. Or for some effect, play bystanders. You'll see why this is different once Reaperfett and I get going.

Further guidelines - NO SABREFIGHTING. This is a gun battle.

Background - Force Master Hunter has been given a rather large bounty from a gangster named Veart- he's been asked to capture Jedi Knight Reaperfett. The story opens with Hunter, after tracking Reaperfett and a woman down to Coruscant gets wind they will be in a shopping mall. Sensing the opportunity to lay an ambush, Hunter drops through the roof at night and sets up the hit....

:: Midnight.

Hunter finishes off the cut in the roof and drops down to the floor below, The Mall, usually a hive of activity is now closed and dead quiet, dark. He looked around and saw what a previous vist had revealed before... the perfect place to hide. He quickly ran to the chosen spot and dissappeared into the darkness::

OOC : The mall opens at 9am local time. If you want to join in, the hit is about 11 am. One more intro post tomorrow I do.

She slammed her fist on the counter. "I don't want to hear your excuses!" De'Ville lowered her voice, and leaned in closer to the startled Rodian clerk. "I bought it yesterday, today it doesn't work..."

"You want-"

"-Of course I want my money back!" She handed the chrono back to the clerk, avoiding any tangling with her suckers. Looking off to the side, at a chrono that actually works, imagine that!, De'Ville saw that it was 9:05. She had stormed in as soon as the mall had opened.

The sooner I'm off this rock, the better. Coruscant was full of memories for her, and none of them were what one might call pleasant. The green skinned girl behind the counter turned back to her, extending another chrono.

Her Basic was heavily mangled and hard to understand, but De'Ville understood the gist of what she was trying to say. "Oote-you taku this oon-" The chrono was of lesser value that the one De'Ville had purchased the day previously.

"No, I'll take another just like what I bought yesterday. I want the same watch, but I want one that works!" Exasperated, De'Ville clenched her fists to stop from pounding the glass counter again. I hate shopping...

(The vendor's eyes widened, and he leaned forward across the counter, facing Sanis)

Vendor: (Cough-cough-cough) What...did you say...you wanted?

(Sanis runs his right hand through his hair, and lowers his voice)

Sanis: Mandalorian Shells.

(The Vendor looks at Sanis incredulously)

Vendor: That...(Cough-cough-hack)...is is antique hardware, from the days of the Clone Wars. Do you know how tough it is to find those these days? Hell, I'm not even sure if anybody still makes them.

(Sanis nods his head)

Sanis: Yeah, yeah....I know how rare they are, I don't need a collector's guide. All I'm asking is...do you have any?

(The vendor sweats a little)

Vendor: Yeah, so what if I do?

Sanis: Well, I'm lookin to buy some?

(The vendor raised an eyebrow)

Vendor: You? Heh! You made of money?

Sanis: Heh, funny, friend. Lets just say, I've got enough.

(The Vendor leaves the front room for a few minutes, disappearing into a darkened back room. He returns three minutes later, with a small box containing seven gleaming metal cyllinders.)

Vendor: (Cough-wheeeze)...I have seven shells.

(The Vendor begins to sort through them)

Vendor: I have three green shells, one orange shell, two light blue shells, and one black shell.

(Sanis licks his lips, looking at the black shell. Jackpot!)

Sanis: How much for the black?

(Vendor begins to laugh heartily, then to wheeze and cough)

Vendor: Stranger, you shouldn't ask questions like that.

(Sanis scowls)

Sanis: C'mon, buddy...just gimme a price!

(The Vendor smiles)

Vendor: This one costs thirty-five thousand credits...

(Sanis bolts straight up)

Sanis: THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND?!?! You crazy old man, you're over-charging on that shell by ten thousand credits!

(Sanis spins on a heel, and begins to walk out of the store. The Vendor, having his bluff called, stammers out)

Vendor: W-w...(cough-hack)...wait! I'll sell this shell to you for a special sale price, mister! Twenty-five thousand, just for you!

(Sanis smiled...he knew the old codger was gouging the price. He turns around, smiling.)

Sanis: Well....glad you had a change of heart!

(Sanis reaches into a pouch, pulling out a credit chit. He sets the value on the chit to 25 grand, and authorizes, it, flipping it to the old man. The old man, in turn, hands Sanis the black shell)

Sanis: Glad we could reach a compromise.

(The Vendor looks at the 25,000 credit chit, and smiles widely)

Vendor: (cough-cough-wheeze-hack)...yes, do come again! Heeheehee!

(Sanis smiled, and walked out of the store, placing the expensive black Mandalorian shell in his bandolier. He had a feeling he would need it soon.)

::Fett picks up the second slugthrower, and tucks it in his trousers

"Why use slugthrowers? Why not blasters?"

Fett turned to Kate, and smiled

"Because slugthrowers are better. These are cheaper. These can be silenced. These can emit no kind of light. But mainly, because I like the look"

He gives a half smile, as he made sure you couldnt see the guns. Last thing Fett wanted was to have attention drawn to him. Fett then unclips hs saber, and throws it on the bed. Kate looks at him, suprised.

"You're not taking your saber?" Se asked
"We need to look lke a normal couple. Normal couples dont carry a lightsaber, do they?"
"OK, so whats the plan"
"We go to the Dewback Cafe for 11AM. We then meet an informant, who knows where Bane is. We meet, we leave, no fuss"
"And I'm going because..?"
"Because Im not leaving you alone"

Fett had started being over protective of Kate since she was nearly snatched by a gang of swoop bikers. Fett blamed himself for it, even though he couldnt do anything.

Fett nods at Kate, and the two head for the door. 5 minutes later, they enter the COruscant mall...::

Morgan yawned... breaking through a mall's security was so... so... pedestrian. Maybe he could spice up the day by duct taping the guard in the control room to the ceiling.

Nah.

Maybe I'll just go for a walk, after all, what could be more intersting than 2 kilometers of capitalism at work?

His stomach rumbled like thunder from a Courscant thunder storm.

And grab a bite to eat.

(As Sanis stepped out of the store, his stomach began to growl. Pausing to look at a datapad with his current "assignment" on it, Sanis decided that it could wait at least until after he had eaten lunch.

Sanis made his way down to the mall's Food Court, looking for something befitting his changing tastes. Ah...a Twi'Lek restaurant. He hadn't eaten Twi'Lek food in a while, that oughtta hit the spot. Mmm...spicey, yet quite sweet and with a lot of textures.

As Sanis got in the line leading up to "Soneeta's Cuisine", he suddenly got a funny feeling. Placing his right hand over one of his blaster holsers, Sanis whirled around, expecting to see trouble. However...it was nothing at all, just a case of jumpy nerves. Sanis shrugged it off. Damn, guess he was hungrier than he thought.

Sanis made his way up to the front of the line, ordering the steamed Hassassa, with the spicy fried Uka rolls. After repeating his order several times to the smiling cashier, Sanis finally paid and got his food. As he walked to a table Sanis chuckled.

Damn...Twi'Lek's were such nice people, but they couldn't speak a lick of Basic to save their lives!)

Lady DeVille
Feb 20th, 2001, 02:17:48 AM
Shopping bag slung over her shoulder, De'Ville stalked down to the third level of the mall. She could smell... something, and it wasn't pleasant.

Ugh, Gammorreans. One of the piggish aliens was walking towards her, and as it got closer De'Ville could see the worrts crawling on it. Or rather, her. The matronly Gammorrean was snuffling to her human companions, but De'Ville couldn't see how they could stand her company. Or her smell...

A few metres later, a different smell wafted through the air. The Food Court was one level down from where she was, but the aroma of the area was tantalizing. Carefully positioned ducts vented the mouth watering smells throughout the levels, and De'Ville's stomach growled.

She checked her new chrono:

10:45

I guess a snack will do- ooh, mama likes... She slightly turned to watch a muscular male walk past her. Now, if there was a store where I could pick up one of those- Ah well...

She headed for a turbolift, and was whisked down to the next floor. Exiting she found herself in front of a holobook store, advertising the best in holobook technology, all for only 29.99 in New Republic chits. A couple brushed past her, heading for the Food Court behind her.

She ducked into the store, looking for something to read on the shuttle.

OOC : Remember, totally open RP. No sabres, else you might find yourself with a few problems.

9 am

He didn’t need a chrono to wake him, even in this darkness. His internal body clock registered he was asleep for long enough and Hunter awoke, taking a moment to asses where he was. An old service shaft, small, with a few small hatches to the roof area of the mall. Looking through the hatches and the whole floor area could be seen, as well as the place where this Darth Veart had told him Jedi Knight Reaperfett would be. Darth Veart. What an egotistical ass. Still, his credits were as good as anyone’s and Hunter would gladly relieve the pockets of idiots of their credits. Stupidity on the half of the client was no reason to refuse a job.

The actual service tube was about 1 meter round, fairly clean and dark. In fact, reflected Hunter, it was a damn sight better place to sleep than was the flea hotel he used as a base. For one, it was dry and warm. He stretched out in the confines of the tube, actually feeling quite refreshed. Dressed in leggings and a singlet, be began to unroll his trench coat and began to get ready. First, he dressed in his customary cargo pants, military boots, a black long sleeve top. He laid out his gloves and his sun glasses, the latest style, while he reached over for hi weapon harness. A custom designed webbing, it allowed Hunter to carry the virtual armoury he used. Clipping the webbing on around his chest, hips and legs, it allowed for a carry of 10 guns, 2 knives, several ammo packages, 4 detonators and some other assorted surprises. He would admit it was modelled on a holoscreen actor, but he didn’t care. It was functional and just plain cool. Hunter liked that. It also was good at disguising his identity.

The guns he tested and loaded. Twin DL-44 blasters, powerful hand blasters, but absolutely paled in comparision to what was next. Twin hand guns, slugthrowers of all things, 15 shot magazine, .50 calibre magnums, hollow point projectiles, armour piercing coating with zero friction. Able to shatter body armour and even penetrate some body shields.

Next, the Is’ra’eli Uzi 30 shot slugthrowers, 2. Compact carbine type weapons, full auto. Damage central. Spray a crowd with projectiles, with a fast enough fire rate to overload a shield. And make blocking with a sabre next to impossible – IF it was possible at all. He often wondered why the outlaws hadn’t figured out the advantages of a decent slugthrower – admittedly, these things were hard to get and expensive, held far fewer shots, but they were not random like energy blasters. Took some skill to use. Also a decent enough shield could stop the projectiles, but hardly anyone carried a personal shield strong enough to stop a bullet. True, you needed armour piercing projectiles against armoured targets and those things were expensive. But, he used the best for the best.

Another twin sub-machine thrower guns. 35 shot.

A pellet gun. A pump action weapon that had it’s own strap, 20 shot magazine, this was a real beauty. Wooden stock and a full 2.5 cm diameter twin sabots that fell away in flight to leave a huge projectiles that with it’s sheer size and speed could blow holes clean through hull steel at close range. No-one stayed alive if they were hit with that.

And his pride…. The beautifully made and virtually unique rail guns. About as large as you could get for hand held weaponry, a 20 shot magazine. Could be fitted with different barrels to make a weapon that could escape weapons checks, be fitted with different barrels for different jobs, power levels variable form silent mode and a 500kph projectile, to a 2000 m/s supersonic blast. Variable ammo type, even to explosive tip like he was using now. A thoroughly awesome weapon and the one he had used to take out Darth Turbogeek. One rail gun was holstered. The other had been fitted with a sniper barrel.

By the time he was ready, it was 10 am and the mall below was becoming full with beings. He allowed a look out the hatch, seeing the place where Verat had told him Reaperfett and the woman would be. Dewback Café. All the seating was open. 150 meters away. Perfect. He adusted his scope that he had attached for this job. Satisfied, he closed the hatch and waited.

A thought occurred to him – why had he bought all his weaponry, when in all probability he would never be seen and this Jedi would gets his brains blown into the lap of his companion? After the last hit involving a Jedi and the totally unexpected consequences, he wasn’t going anywhere without maximum firepower.

The time ticked past and finally, 11 am. He looked out the hatch, looked through the scope and saw two figures approaching the café. One was a rather pretty woman, the other the Jedi. The informant was already seated at a table.

He ran through final instructions.

Shoot the informant dead first. Then the woman and the Jedi.

Why the hell the Verat wanted the informant dead first was beyond Hunter. His choice would have to been get the Jedi first. Still, Verat was the client…...

And now was the time for Hunter to earn some credits. He reattached the scope to the rail gun, then made sure the rope he had attached to the floor was in place. He put his trench coat on, then the sunglasses, then the gloves. Opening the hatch again, he lay the gun on a improvised tripod, then sighted down the scope until the crosshairs pointed just under the temple of the first taget.

Nearly time……

(Sanis finishes the Twi'Lek food, standing up and stretching slightly. Ahhh...he'd have to remember to eat that more often. So good, so filling, and so cheap. Damn, how did a place like that turn a profit? Sanis shook his head, he'd never know.

Where was he? Ah yes, the job.

Sanis removed the datapad from his jacket, and thumbed the top to activate it. The target's name was Suteir Srahas, a retail store clerk at Halsters leather store. An up and coming lad, he'd apparently taken a liking to dealing glitterstim on the side, much to the chagrin of a few major spice dealers in the city. Disappointed in lost profits, they had come to Sanis to deal with this unneeded business competition.

Sanis shrugged. He didn't care about the who's, what's, and why's....he wasn't paid to. If the poor bastard was dealing dope on some bigger fish's turf, then that was too damn tough luck. Wasn't Sanis' fault that the kid was in his dire predicament.

Sanis walked up and rode the escalator to the second floor. Eh, for 125,000...the Loterra gang had been rather determined to get rid of this kid. Oh well...sometimes fate worked that way.)

Hearing her name, De'Ville turns slightly, her hand touching her blaster in a shoulder holster under her snakeskin jacket. Vader. No threat there, unless the feline Sith wanted to do some shredding with those claws she was so fond of flashing.

She paused at the first row of holobooks, absently picking one up as Lady Vader stepped in behind her. Turning to face her, De'Ville had a fine view of the Food Court.

"My Lady Vader, how are you today? Shopping hard?" De'Ville eyed the bags Vader had tucked under her arms.

"You know the saying, when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping." Vader's eyes twinkled a little. De'Ville was not fooled, under the light and easy manner was a tough, hard as nails Sith.

"Ah, tough here on Coruscant. I bet your hotel is a lot better than mine. I spent the night squashing bed bugs with the Force." De'Ville noticed the title of the holobook in her hand, 1,001.4 Nights of Robotic Passion, and replaced it on the shelf hurriedly. Holo-smut is more like it.

Vader shrugged, "Not my fault you opted for that part of town."

"The bars are better there... Besides, the place I stayed was a lot better than where I used to live here." De'Ville tried not to complain too much -this time. "Did you get in touch with the Sec-"

The other woman grabbed her arm. "Could we talk about this over lunch? I hear the Dewback is a great little place." De'Ville allowed the older Sith to drag her energetically out of the store.

Pierce Tondry
Feb 20th, 2001, 04:54:36 PM
Pierce Tondry stepped quietly into the mall. His eyes were cold and dead, but his face betrayed that with a relaxed and sleepy expression. In all reality, he was no more asleep than a Chadra-Fan would be after drinking five gallons of fizzyglug or caf-mixer.

He was here looking for someone. Someone who had been sighted on the planet not long ago, and by chance had entered a mall where security was in Intel's pay.

And someone who Pierce had more than a passing interest in.

Pierce's stomach growled. ' Time for meal number two,' he thought, adjusting his shoulders to settle his backpack. ' Freaky things happen when you lose a soul.'

The cold-hearted killer headed for the food court, with a hankering for something spicy and Chandrilan.

Mall shopping is so tedious.. I wish everyone's birthday fell on the same day, that way I wouldn't have to be bothered so much.. Instead I have to go two or three times a month.. and forget the holidays, uh....

Looking up, he saw the face of the informant. a middle aged man sits there, with a bushy moustache. Fett slowly walks up to him, and takes a seat across from him. The target stood and Hunter looked up to see the Jedi and the woman taking a seat. He bent down to look through the scope again, carefully aiming. Knowing he would have to reaim fast, he practiced the shift. 1 second. It would probably take even a Jedi longer to react.

He sighted again and twisted the power control of the rail gun. Maximum speed. The expolsive tips were armed and it was now or never.

He breathed out and in, then out again to steady himself, to calm his body, to relax.

His finger gently squeezed the trigger….

Click. Whhhoooooooooo….. CRACK!

The projectile, forced outwards by the rail guns electro pulses, accelerated down the barrel, breaking the sound barrier with a whipcrack and exploded outwards. The bullet flew true, smashing into the informant, blowing his skull to pieces with a flash of flame and showering the woman with blood and gore. Hunter twisted and then fired again, the whip crack of the gun sounding like thunder in his ears as the second bullet sped at the Jedi….

::All hell borke loose. No sooner had Fett sat down, had the informant became a piece of the furniture. Sensing something, Fett dived off his chair, into Kate, and down a small drop near the table, giving them some form of cover. Looking down at Kate, he saw her covered in blood.

"Sithspit!"

Fett grabs a table cloth from a nearby table, and goes to tend to any wounds she had. He is stopped by a hand, and looks down to see her, looking visibally shocked, looking up at him.

"It's not my blood, I'm ok" She says

Fett gave a small half smile in reply, and pulls out his two 1911s. Diving out from the cover, the Jedi fires in the direction of the shots::

Hunter swore. The bullet missed by a hair breath! Hunter saw the woman and the Jedi duck, then glanced upwards. An idea came to him...

Resetting the sight quickly, he fired twice, spapping the chain of a huge clock that was directly above the targets. The clock began to drop as He booted open the hatch further, then threw out the rope. Twisting the sniper barrel off the rail gun, he holstered the weapon, grabbed the rope and swung out wards, sliding down the rope, using his boots and his gloves to break. He jumped the last few meters, drawing the handguns and moving in the direction of the clock that had landed, shattering and spraying the area with plastic and glass

What the hell?

Sanis could've sworn he heard shots...and not just any shots. By their distinct sound, he'd wager money on the fact that they were rail slugs, which begged the question...who the hell shot off rail slugs in broad daylight in the middle of a supermall?

Sanis crouched low, looking around. Could it be Tondry?)

"Holy sh..." Morgan didn't finish as he dived for cover. Mall security would be useless against anyone who could aim for two bantha dumps.

He glanced through the glass of the jewerly counter, realizing that if the sniper... BLAM BLAM BLAM
Was up high, where those shots hit, he was screwed. Running for better cover, a thick metal food vendor's cart against the wall, he drew his latest creation.

http://bmat.clanhappy.com/gun.jpg
It was a gauss slug thrower, powered by a standard blaster clip. Morgan had made ceramic slugs with a nickle ferrous core, extremely cheap, and made easily from one's home. He had also modded his DE slightly, and it now could throw the same slugs, albeit a far larger around and shorter in length.

The gun came free, and he directed it at where other shots had hit from the propellant based thrower.

Pierce Tondry
Feb 21st, 2001, 01:40:15 AM
By sheerest luck, Pierce stepped off the turbolift just as the clock started falling.

He paused, stepped back in, and hit the close button, taking cover to one side of the turbolift.

Whatever was happening out there needed to be sorted out.

Pierce quickly unshouldered his backpack and pulled out two weapons. Aside from the various holdout blasters and vibroblades on his person, Pierce had two very nice toys at his disposal.

One of them was an assemble-able microgrenade launcher. 30 rounds per clip, five clips, blast range of 15 meters from impact.

The second, recently returned to him by Dalethria Mal Pannis, was his pride and joy. A MerrSonn ER-1220 sniper rifle, upgraded to hold 60 shots per clip and fire them off either in single shots with a maximum range of 500 meters, or in a 5-shot per second semi-automatic burst.

Admittedly, he only had memories of what pride was now, but that wouldn't stop him from keeping the weapon. Or using it now, as his weapon of choice.

Pierce forced the turbolift doors open just wide enough for him to slip through, but did not yet leave the lift. He flipped up his sightscope and began using it to investigate the situation.

Sanis Prent
Feb 21st, 2001, 01:57:01 AM
(Sanis lowered his body until it was flush with the steps of the escalator. The shots had rang out in the direction of the Food Court dining area, which meant that whoever was doing the shooting was most likely positioned around the second story catwalks over the food court. Sanis rode out the escalator until it reached the top, at which point he crawled as low to the ground as possible, eventually positioning himself behind one of the large metal waste cans.

The hit job would have to wait, at least until Sanis could sort out exactly what the hell was going on. He didn't like the situation, not one bit. Reaching down to his belt, Sanis tapped the button of a small object clipped there. A high-pitched whine could faintly be heard for a second, until it faded away. Sanis wasn't taking chances here. He doubted that the shooting had anything at all to do with the hit job, and had quite a bit to do with someone else's assignment altogether. It wouldn't be the first time his hunt had crossed another man's hunt. Nevertheless, he knew to be on guard for such a situation. Men like Sanis prided themselves in their work, and didn't like for it to be interfered with. Sanis would have to be very passive about finding out the situation here.

He glanced at his chronometer. Frell! He was already 2 minutes late for the hit. Oh the problems. When it rains, it pours.)

Hunter gave himself a few seconds to sort out the civilians who were now screaming and running and to see where that damn Jedi had gotten to. He jumped onto a table to look over the crowds, but could see nothing.

Damn!

Targeted a plate glass window near where the Jedi was last seen and fired five times, the bullets screaming ovetr the heads of the beings and exploding into the panels, shattering and spraying glass everywhere. Also had the added bonus of making just about anyone duck.

He jumped off the table and began to sprint towards the restraunt, firing twice more to clear his path.

An eight foot tall dark figure sneaked through a narrow corridor on the lower levels of the shopping mall.. connected to his his back he had varios weaponry mounted. Most notably some kind of missile tube not assembled yet, along with the usual military supplies, like flairs, explosives, medical equipment, radio etc. Surely, the weight would for any normal person be to heavy even to lift, but then again, this man was anything but normal. In addition, a Malaxan Firepower Incorporated FWG-5 Golan Arms FC1 Flechette Launcher and a Merr-Sonn C-22 Flame Carbine Flame Projector had been was twin mounted to combine into one weapon, mounted with a strap to his right shulder. Strapped to his left shoulder he carried a Stokhli Spray Stick. A Tenloss DX-2 Disruptor Pistol, a Blastech DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol and a Panorval Defense Systems Sd-77 sonic pistol were mounted to his belt. In a leg strap there were various Merr-Sonn grenades ranging from Glop Grenades, C-22's amd WW-41 Cryoban Grenades. In his left boot, there was a concealed modified vibroblade. a Kevarek Consolidated Arms MM9 Rocket System wrist rocket was conveniently mounted to his right wrist.

This walking artillery unit had an almost scary focused look on his face. Eyes were burning of determination. There.. his target was in sight: The electrical generator. With swift and effective movements he placed the linked termal detonators firmly on the power cables, main and sub generator structures. He armed it, set up a remote controll, and checked the connection.

This place would soon become a warzone...

(Sanis continued to crouch behind posts, waste cans, and benches, slowly advancing until he neared the catwalk area of the food court. Still, he could see nothing. Staying low to the ground, Sanis reached at his side, freeing his Shell Gun. Opening the breech, he slid in one light blue shell and one orange shell. As he peered over the waste basket he was behind, he noticed that several other people were also taking cover, assessing the situation. Sanis' brow furrowed...which of them were involved in this.

Sanis' eyes moved from left to right. It had been a few seconds since he heard a shot. What he needed now was to see the smoking gun, literally. Spent casings ejecting, tracer streams, or muzzle flashes. Something that could pinpoint one of the gunmen's location. Sanis held onto his Shell Gun tightly, waiting for his moment.)

::Covering his face from the shards, Fett stayed low behind the table. Luckily for him, no shards cut him. Got to move, this isn't a good place to be he thought. Grabbing the tablecloth he cleaned the blood off Kate with, he wraps it round his hand. Tying the other end to a table leg, Fett gets up, and runs to the balcony. Closing his eyes, he jumped...

Fett stopped with a jump. The table had dragged towards the edge, and got caught on the rail. The Jedi untangled his hand, and dropped the remaining 5 feet. pointing his 1911s upwards, he looked for the hitman, hoping there were a few slugs left::

:: Hunter finally got to the cafe and looked around, expecting the Jedi to have gone to ground. He looked around briefly, then noted the table stuck against a railing.

???

Not really having any better leads, Hunter accelerated into a sprint, then used his Force abilities to extend the jump over the rail to roughly twice the length possible, twisting in mid air and bearing his guns to aim at the floor below.

The Jedi!!!!

Still in mid air and now travelling backwards and down, he opened fire again::

(At the sound of gunshots, Sanis' head snapped to the left, seeing a black-clad man jumping over the 2nd floor catwalk railing, opening fire as he descended. Now, it wasn't the black garb that gave it away, nor was it the man's choice of weaponry necessarily, but those two combined with the man's dexterity led Sanis to only one conclusion.)

Damn you, Hunter! Can't you see I'm on the job, too?

(Sanis scowled from behind the waste can. Force Master Hunter...an expert bounty hunter in any respect, and one of the few in the Outlaw trade that Sanis could say had respectable skills. He was good, and he charged for that perfection as well, able to net jobs that paid much higher than anything Sanis ever bagged. So, what in Frell's name was he doing on the same hit job? Sanis was utterly confused. This was pocket change for a man like Hunter, and Sanis knew it. On the other hand, a hit like this would help Sanis to pay the bills, and he definitely needed it more than Hunter did.

Sanis watched Hunter in action, and knew that even though the job was not particuarly large, he'd be damned if Hunter would snatch his credits away from him. Turning quickly to the side of the waste can, Sanis aims his shell gun down into the food court, squeezing the right trigger and sending the light blue shell out in a thunderous bang. Quickly, Sanis ducked behind the waste can and shielded his eyes, as the powerful flashbang shell erupted in midair, creating a mammoth bang and a blinding flash. As everyone writhed in confusion from the stunning light and sound show, Sanis began to sprint, using the time he gained to leave the food court, and finish his job before Hunter could.)

What the....?

The light show caused Hunter to miss his footing and land awkwardly, tumbling to the ground.

Damn it, the Jedi's got backup!

Rolling to a stop, he pointed the guns in the direction of the blast, sighted a running figure, then opened fire, firing until the hand guns were empty. He rolled again, this time behind a plant for cover, to reholster the empty guns adn draw out the sub machine throwers. Clicking hte safeties off, Hunter glanced from around his cover, looking to see where the asailant was and where this Jedi had gotten to

(As Sanis ran, he felt a hard thump against his back as a bullet impacted his light shield, causing Sanis to be knocked forward with the round's momentum. Instead of resisting the pressure, Sanis rolled with it, tumbling forward. He could hear several shots being fired in his general vicinity. Well, it appeared that he had Hunter's attention then.

Using more benches and waste baskets for cover, Sanis began to dart from cover spot to cover spot, putting distance between himself and Hunter's guns. Damn, at this rate, he'd never make the hit for the Loterra gang. Getting tangled up in a firefight with the likes of Hunter was hardly worth 150 thousand, but Sanis had a job to do, and sometimes these things just happened.)

Lady DeVille
Feb 21st, 2001, 04:27:37 PM
De'Ville shouted in Vader's ear above the din of the firefight, "Is this a bad time to ask about Sector Rangers?"

Vader nodded, and De'Ville pulled her blaster as well. Their pot was taking a beating from stray projectiles, and there was glass and plastic everywhere.

She rolled across the floor to the opposite concrete planter, and looked carefully around it. The hit seemed to be concentrated on a paticular individual, and from his sense, unbearable calm amidst this chaos?, he was a Jedi.

The man in the black trench coat had to be the Force Master Hunter. Who else would try to off a Jedi in broad daylight? It took balls, that for sure. De'Ville had never seen the Hunter, and didn't know of anyone who had, but there was no mistaking his distinct style.

There was another man who was being fired upon, a scruffy, nerf-herder type who packed an impressive weapon. De'Ville looked toward Vader: "What now?"

Pierce Tondry
Feb 21st, 2001, 11:04:12 PM
Pierce's eyes opened wide. He jerked the sightscope down from his eyes and ducked back inside the lift. A flash from outside did not disrupt his thoughts.

Sanis Prent was on Coruscant. This was a surprise, somewhat, but their paths had crossed before and not to Pierce's total satisfaction. He'd made a quiet promise to deal with Sanis in a more strict fashion.

On the other hand, Pierce was a dead man now. A cold, dead man.

And revenge was a dish best served cold.

His mind made up, Pierce stepped from the lift. He spotted Sanis hiding behind a garbage can not far from where he'd last been and lifted the rifle to fire it. A single shot leapt out and hit the area at Sanis' feet where four floor tiles crossed.

"SANIS!" he roared, now that he had the criminal's attention. "SANIS PRENT! I HOPE YOU HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN ME, BECAUSE I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN YOU!"

And then he aimed and fired again.

The high velocity energy burst struck Sanis' body light shield just in front of his face, the momentum throwing Sanis backwards onto the ground, where his head hit the hard tiling. The energy projectile deflected from the shielding, careening upwards into a shop window. Sanis, although extremely dazed from the powerful impact, got his bearings quickly enough to roll away from the edge of the catwalk, tumbling inside a shoe store. Several other shots rang out, and the shop's windows began to rain down broken glass on top of Sanis.

Sanis kept his head down, trying to get the ringing sound out of his ears. That voice...that was Tondry. He'd bet money on it, even though he'd never heard the man in person. The vindictive tone in his voice, as well as how he clipped his words...just like an Imperial officer. For a few seconds, Sanis just lay on his stomach, assessing the situation. He reached down to his belt, grabbing his Shell Gun, and loading a red and an orange shell inside. He closed the breach, and closed his eyes, breathing hard. This was going to be tough.)

Sanis? The name was vaguely familiar, one of Vader's contacts no doubt. De'Ville looked toward the nearest turbolift, which was partially blocked by the large clock that had fallen off the wall. There was a man standing there- Alexander?

There was no time to properly process the information, Vader was again tugging on her arm. De'Ville followed the older Sith in the opposite direction from the 'lift, ducking as shots rang out between Sanis and the man by the clock.

With a loud bang the nerve gas canister blew, spreading its noxious fumes throughout the lower level. The cloud of gas rose to the level De'Ville and Vader were on, and De'Ville grabbed Vader and pushed her through a doorway into a store.

Oh @#%$. Fish tank. Glass. Flying bullets. OH bug......

CHASH!!!!

The tanks wall blew out as the cracks joined and thousands of litres of water upended itself onto a startlred Hunter. The wave picked him up and swept him - along with tables, chairs and patrons away. The tank was a rather big one.

Deposited rudely down a flight of stairs, the spluttering Hunter got to his feet, cursing the loss of one of his sub throwers. With water still washing down the stairs, he climbed back up, reaching under his coat for one of the Uzi's. Cursing, he regained the level he had been on, to survey the wreckage quickly, then to work out where in the Force the Jedi had gone.

He was only young, 17. Only jst finished training in mall security. He had a commlink and a smile, nothing that cpuld deal with the utter mayhem that was now exploding all around him. From under a table at the Dewback cafe, he grabbed for the comm link.

"Several armed person have started a war!" He yelled over the exploding fish tank. "Send BAckup!"

The commlink spke back.

"Sorry, come again? A war? What's your operating number?"

"F*** MY OPERATING NUMBER!!! GET THE F&*&^%@ BACKUP DOWN HERE!! FOUR MAYBE FIVE MEN GOING ON A SHOOTING SPREE!!"

The comm link went quiet as another bullet howled overhead.

"Okay, backup coming. Cease and detain fighters as you can. Control out"

The young man started at the Comm link. What, they think he was insnae? He wasnt goign to go anywhere - not when these guys had guns with projectiles that could vaporise your skull liek that poor barstard the Tech had seen at the beginning of this. A puff of flame and the guy had nothing above his shoulders and the woman had worn the lot...

The threw up thinking about it. And wished he had beyed him mum and gone into something safer. Life Shipjacking.

Pierce shot several more times, knocking a pair of salt shakers off tables and several cans off of a nearby bar.

The sight of two people leaping up an entire floor made Pierce stop firing at Sanis and take notice. One of them he recognized as being Lady Vader and the other-

The other person made him pause to see her. Lilaena De'Ville was the reason he was in this mall.

A green gas rising from the floor below also caught his attention. Pierce reached around to his backpack and yanked off a rebreather mask. He fitted it to his face and strapped it on.

Perhaps, if he was lucky, he could catch up with Lilaena later. On the other hand, if Sanis died now, that was an annoyance off his back.

With that decided, Pierce stepped back behind a wall and waited for Prent to show his face.

(Sanis crawled further into the shoe store, as the din of zinging energy shots ceased in his ears...advancing far enough into the store so that he could not be seen from the first floor. He looked up at the rather-terrified store employees. Sanis raised up to a crouch, dusting the shards of glass and other debris off his jacket. He smiled, and waved slightly to the young human girl at the register, and the older Sylgrian manager. The Sylgrian simply shook his beaked head, cawing slightly as he cleared debris away. Sanis smiled at the register clerk, as she looked at him with those large, scared eyes.)

Sorry bout the mess...can you show me your stockroom, please?

(The girl shakily pointed to the back. Sanis' smile widened, as he gave her a thumbs-up sign.)

Thanks a bunch.

(Sanis kept low as he moved into the stockroom. There were shelves upon shelves of shoeboxes in there, stacked up quite high. However, the room was quite large, and did extend quite a ways back...offering Sanis ample amount of room to work with. Positioning himself towards the front of the room, Sanis leveled his Shell Gun at the floor in the back of the stockroom, firing a red shell.

Throughout the mall, a thunderous bang echoed...busting out glass windows in a few shops. Wisps of white smoke soon followed the explosion, billowing out of the shoe store, as the Sylgrian manager and the human clerk ran out, screaming.)

Morgan decided the cart had out-lived it's usefullness, and abandonded it without a second thought as the water rushed twoards him. After all, none of the firing had gone his way, and after that flashbang had gone off, many were in a daze. His gun shifted exclusively to his right hand, and his arms and legs began to move at an inhuman speed. After a hundred meters, Morgan took two huge steps, and lept into the air for the second level.

His sneakers almost caught on the railing, but he stumbled and continued into a store at breakneck pace. He threw himself over the counter and landed attop a very atractive cashier, who screamed at the sight of a gun. Morgan's hand covered her mouth.

"Shhhh, are you trying to get me killed?" He said as he returned the gun to his coat. This somehow reassured her slightly, and she quieted. He got himself up, and looked around the side of the counter.
All clear, or so it seemed.

Feb 24th, 2001, 07:06:37 PM
Domini Leveresk was walking to a rendezvous when the first shots sounded. Naturally, his instincts shoved him forth.

He had two suitcases. One he set down, the other he lay on a nearby table. punching in the correct three digit code, he flipped it open to grasp it's contents.

Ah, he said inwardly, grinning to himself. The first weapon he laid eyes on was a TAVOR Bull Pup Micro assult Rifle. <img src=http://www.imi-israel.com/images/micro.jpg>It sported a thirty shot clip of NASO 5.56 milimeter rounds and fired at a rate of roughly 850 shots per minute. Being little more than a foot long, it was ideal for close encounters combat.

Though he didn't see the full item, he knew what was next. The side of the breifcase hid a metal dowel no more than a centimeter thick and five centimeters high. Groves on either side of the dowel allowed fingers to reach in and pull it out. Under the dowel, and indeed attached to both it and the breifcase, was a short spool of piano wire.

He gingerly pulled the Tavor out of it's cushioned restingplace and slipped a clip it, and stuffed two in the knee pocket of his cargo pants. He walked away, hiding one breifcase and using the other as a shield.
