Leia is a politician, not a dictator. She hasn't the authority to decide all by herself that she's going to send in a fleet which will ultimately nullify an Imperial peace pact and wreck galactic peace. If you want to talk to someone about NR military aid, then these are the people who you speak to, in this order:

Dodonna
Captain Tomahawk

And those three people don't seem too keen on the idea of disrupting galactic peace and wrecking their plans, so angellink11, if you're going in with any new republic forces, it's going to be confined to your squadron, most likely, as the fleets already have commanders and everyone would notice a move from Kuat (OOC knowledge) and shoot you down. Not only that, your character is going to be looking at serious high treason charges.

Alright, I have absolutely no idea what is going on in that thread. Can the Via and the vong please post here, indicating which of their forces (that are participating in this thread) are located at which of the 8 locations (7 planets and then sevon's rearguard deployment) that way I can form some sort of map so we know what the hell's going on? There are 8 imperial divisions involved in this campaign, each roughly composed of 1 SSD, ~10 ISDs, ~30 or so FCLF's (light frigates) on average, perhaps ~20 more Interdiction pickets on average, ~15 VSDs on average, and other miscellaneous craft. I can have a detailed roster of deployments made up a bit later.

Tsaak, from reading your posts, it seems that there is an implication that the TIE Devils are being slaughtered by the supposedly superior skips. Maybe you should give them a bit more credit?

1. Skips are faster than 166 MGLT?
2. By design, TIE Devils are somewhat good against vong skips. For every ten shots by a skip against a devil, about one should actually hit, and that would of course shred the 5 RU hull. Still, it's a 3 meter sphere. Not exactly a very big targeting profile, especially for a species that burns its technology, fire-control targeting computers included. And then there's the 7 shot/second light laser cannon, which should overwhelm a dovin basal and then fry the craft.


And Jyener, unless you plan on starting a Sith/Imperial war, which I'd like to assume is not your intention, I'd advise you OOC to disengage from this particular operation. IC, if Vis finds out that TSE ships (which is what he considers Death Fleet to be) are killing his men, the result cannot be a good one.

I've spoken to several people on AIM, and I'm a bit confused regarding Death Fleet's affilliation. I'm told that Death Fleet is a part of TSE, yet when I read the monster thread involving TSE's superweapon, Death Fleet has two shipyards which are independant of TSE, which I assume are not part of TSE's 4 yards.

Vis - We have lost coralskippers. Although when a TIE Devil is 150 MGLTs at top speed, and a Light skip is 290 at top speed with the ability to tear off shields using the Dovin Basals, I think slaughter is the correct term.

From what was explained to me....its a "one or the other" kind of deal with the dovins.

They either serve as full engines or full black hole shield things. You don't get your cake and eat it too.

Allow me to try and sum up the relationship of TSE and DF bit tired so hopefully say it right. It is not one group with DF as a subgroup, they act independently of TSE in their actions. We dont control them or tell them what to do, what they do is their own affair however if we do need them we can request aide, in return we help to train their people who are Sith to become stronger more capable since we have the people with the experience who can help them in that area.

Its a tight bond or arrangement to be sure but no different then TSE and TSOs relationship. Because one acts doesnt mean the other is responsible or part of that. Sith doesnt mean one group of people.

They got their own ships we got ours. They got their shipyards we got ours. They got their people we got ours. etc. To regard DF and TSE as one in the same group is simply stupid.

Sanis, most ships are equipped with more then one Dovin Basal. Hence one could do one function, while the other could do another function. If a ship is equipped with one Dovin basal, then its functions are limited.

Summing it up, if my ship has more then one Dovin Basal, I get cake and eat it too.

I think that only Light skips are equipped with one. The basals on heavy cruisers and such are in fact placed to avoid what you just said.

For example, if a heavy cruiser had 90% of basals focused on creating shields, then you'd get maybe a few shots through with the plasma cannons.

In answer to your question, the basal would quickly form a black hole, but we'd stop moving until it got rid of the anamoly.

you must remember though, to do this, you have to upgrade your ship. Most standard ships cant do this, youd need at least four lasers, all spread out. And, it isnt simple then. It has to be a blooming good post to take out a coralskipper
