I know there are a lot of you out there that don’t even like star wars. Are you one Really? And if you do like SW, do you collect sw stuff?

I personally do not like Star Wars to a great extent. I thought the movie was cool, but then with all the spin-offs and products, the joy of watching the movies just died. You may ask why I roleplay here. It is because I personally enjoy RPing and Storytelling. Other than that I do it out of boredom. Any questions?

I'm a SW nut. It's the lightsabres that do it for me. :)

I have some of the most obscure SW Merchandise. Including, but not limited to, Darth Maul Bubblebath. Don't ask.

I like the SW... used to be a huge collector. Now I just enjoy RPing SW and reading it more than playing with the toys. Guess I got tired of having to rebuy the same toy because Lucasflims decided to repaint the action figure's pants a different color.

I have loved Star Wars since I could speak.

And my rancor is sitting somewhere with my princess leia lodged in its tummy.

Been a fan since I was a first grader and saw the original. Though at my age, I managed to destroy most of my old original toys, but I have a few collectibles now. =)

They Do actually have a Biggs and a Porkins figure. The thing is they were also VERY rare and also only sold in select states and countries, so you can't really count on finding hardly any of them. I looked forever and never got them... I managed to get 75% of the rare and overseas figures though... ^_^ before I stopped collecting that is. Now that number is reduced to like 50%.

While I like Star Wars, I dont collect anything. I'm not what you would call a hardcore fan that has to have every bit of SW mechandice.

I do have a technical reference, I do have the EU novels that I can put up with and I do have figureine of the Emperor that has lightning that flashes and sound effects.

The only interesting thing to come out of ST was The Borg.

Sanis Prent
Aug 2nd, 2001, 02:31:01 PM
No way....I luv em equally, although the latter part of DS9 and virtually all of Voyager I didn't get to see :(

ST2, Wrath of Khan came on the other night! I love that movie!

"Ship...out of danger?"

"Yes."

"Don't grieve, Admiral. It is logical. The needs of the many...outweigh...."

"...the needs of the few?"

"Or the one.

I never took...the Kobayashi Maru test...until now. So what do you think of my solution?

I am, and always shall be...your friend.

Live long, and prosper."

and of course...

"Of my friend I can say only this. Of all the souls I have encountered on my travels....his was the most h-(chokes up)....human."

And the bagpipes as they shot his body into space...brings a tear to my eye.

LOL! You poor guy! The only SW EU novel you've read is DARKSABER? Bah!

Not to say that many of the others are much better... but DARKSABER!

*cringe*

Nupraptor

For the longest time, the only EU novel I read was "Splinter of the Mind's Eye". After that, I was convinced that they were all that bad, and didn't bother. That is singlehandedly one of the worst books I've ever read. Worse, when taken in context of the SW Universe.

Force Master Hunter
Aug 2nd, 2001, 08:25:07 PM
Ew. Darksabre = bad.

BUT.... Children of the Jedi = worse.

Did anyone else actually read SotME?? My god, I'll take anything else over it. KJA is a master when compared to that tripe.

:x :x :x :x :x

I don't care what anyone else says: Farmerboy Luke should NOT be using phrases like "Ancient Xenographic Technology". Nor should he be thinking about making out with Leia.

SotME?

Daemon Hyfe

Speaking of great books, I just finished Robert Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land. Great stuff. I didn't think I would ever like a book as much as I liked Dune, but Heinlein's just... really really great. I should read more of his stuff now. The only other book by him I've read is The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, which was also excellent.

Dalethria Mal Pannis

New Rebellion :x

I need to read stranger in a stranger :)

Sanis Prent
Aug 3rd, 2001, 12:36:18 PM
I didn't say it was a good one :p

Come to think of it...I really haven't read much EU at all.

Heir to the Empire (comics)
Courtship of Princess Leia
Shadows of the Empire
Tales from Jabba's Palace
Tales from Mos Eisley Cantina
Darksaber
New Rebellion
And the first 3 chapters of Jedi Search

Daemon Hyfe

Well I would hope you think Zahn does Mara well... he did invent her. ;)

Now that I think about it... there are actually several widely-written about EU characters from Zahn's trilogy.
