Both characters seem to be cardboard cutout "fleeters"...which doesn't really allow much to be added to their characters and personality. In fleet terms, I guess my best advice would be to think spatially, and think about logistics, how much room is actually needed for ship components. Best way to do this is to use pre-existing ships as templates.
