ever felt like your on the outside
peering on the inside
ever felt like your nothing
standing beside someone great
ever felt like everyone ignores you
and your standing in front of their face
ever felt like your nothing
a peice of dirt that gets flung aside
ever felt like your invisable
unseable, unlikeable and and invisable.

Not mine and I don't have the author's name, but here is one I like:

How happy he, who free from care
The rage of courts, and noise of towns;
Contented breaths his native air,
In his own grounds.

Whose herds with milk, whose fields with bread,
Whose flocks supply him with attire,
Whose trees in summer yield him shade,
In winter fire.

Blest! who can unconcern'dly find
Hours, days, and years slide swift away,
In health of body, peace of mind,
Quiet by day,

Sound sleep by night; study and ease
Together mix'd; sweet recreation,
And innocence, which most does please,
With meditation.

Thus let me live, unheard, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me dye;
Steal from the world, and not a stone
Tell where I lye

*likes this one..*

Shampoo eyesting kiddies gonna cry,
Lemonade sick feeling, im gonna die
I'll be an asset to my colleagues and company,
I'm walking on the edge of the motorway bridge.

Be a clone, get stoned and they'll leave you alone,
You've got to take it home, robot boy,
An anonymous cog in a cold machine,
people swearing at me, robot boy.

Air conditioned, over entertained,
Eyes glazed over by a cigarette,
At the end of time with our serious faces faces aces,
Our cans of cola and hiroshima...

Something I wrote a while back:

It didn't take that much,
to make you walk away.
They were never real promises -
was my heart a toy for play?
I wasn't ready to let go of (you) my dream...
Looking into your eyes,
then realizing that nothing's what it seemed.

When you leave this time...
I know there will never be a second chance.
I know that when you leave this time,
you'll pass me by without a glance.

And something else:

Twisted Fantasy

Beside crystal clear waters, like a morning's fog...
This place where acid rains like lemon drops,
way above the chimney tops,
where smoke and ashes stain the sky,
where lost souls drift to morn and cry:
That's where you'll find me...

Somewhere deep in a rabbit's hole...
A place where shadows frolic with worms and moles,
where dreams and passions wait by oven doors,
and tears amount to nothing more:
That's where you'll find me...

This is a Sonnet I wrote for someone very dear to me. This one is a sort of play on one of Shakespeare's more famous Sonnets, as was the common practice in the Elizibethian era. It's sappy, but that's not very unusual when it comes to my poetry.

--

Shall I compare thee to a Winter's Night?
For thou art my hope; everlasting dream.
Thy flawless features, cast in pale moonlight
Doth make my heart race, when everything seemed
so dull. A single light - a star against
the placid background of morbid sadness.

The warmth of your body, so light and tense;
A dream - lingering memories, at best.
But after the night's slowly blinking eye
has set, my passion will still burn brightly.
And when dawn approaches, I'll heave a sigh,
Realizing just how grand life can be
When you have an angel to share it with;
You can believe love isn't just a myth.

What can I say? I'm obsessed with E.A.Poe... Here's my two favorite poems by him..

Dream within a dream

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

Alone

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then- in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life- was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.

This is probably my favorite poem that I've written. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be too popular with anyone else. Most of my poetry I put together in about 20-30 minutes - I just start writing whatever I'm feeling at the moment. For this one, I spent a solid week on it, devising a rhyme scheme I was happy with and carefully choosing my words. Anyway, unlike most of my works, it actually has a title.

Dreadful Whisper

Slowly lost
in the insanity
Twirling maze
without escape.
Midnight runs
and twilight thoughts
milling about, so carefree
as if there were nothing
nothing for them
to do.

To be concerned
to think aloud.
Inside my mind, a tiny tear
giving way, the always stare.
And I wonder
If you're there
Lapse into sleep
and drift away
slowly the stench
of decay
gently lifting, day by day
and I slip further down.

Thought aloud?
That can't be right.
but I'm here,
endless plight
Madness ashore
gently assured
that it all is purely real.
Laughter and mockery
everyone else
so lost in what cannot be real.

Ranting, Raving
Panting, Paving
none of it needs to make sense.
A joke
so real
a living tribune
so thought upon
as a silent door.

Watch them spin
all around
nimbly bouncing
off the ground.
We'd all fall down
if we could get back up
chained, so bound
the calm abrupt.

Selfless shutters
shuttered self shut
meaningless babble
inside another
to see nothing;
nothing but dreams.
Nightmares of Nightmares.

Twisted trees and ashen bark;
black-red skies, forever dark;
Dusty wind and bones in sand;
all held between the fingers
of the hand
herald the end of it here.

Twirling in the absence of light
hearing the love of the night
nearing the last act
and paying for the greatest
together we make a pact;
a deal that cannot die.
Then the quickest,
forever the lost.

Running down the chambers
Blades scraping against the walls
staying with me always.
Bars and chains line darkened hallways
liquid fire crawls against my skin
leaving so faint a soul akin
to the line that silently lies within.

Not the night, but the lightless day
hiding within the mindless stay
called unto the fault
to fall a little lower.
My eyes falter darkly
and bleed down my face
leaving the darkest streaks
upon my immortality.
So sadly I cannot see
but everything that I was meant to
and what was not meant to be.

This poem was sent to me by someone I've loved for 3 years now. This has to be one of my most favorites that he has sent, for reasons I will not disclose.

Angel Heart

Mortality, death, and goodbye.
Such cruel, over-stated words.
Estrangement of life and happiness?

Though I am but a whisper now,
And no longer fill your life,
Ever near I remain.
Wordless witness to your gladdest of days
Silent sentinel through long, stormy nights.

Hereafter is not as imagined,
Neither frightening nor dark, -
Rather a shadow of all that used to be.

There is but one sadness in my existence:
To be denied your heavenly-human touch.

I feel myself surrounded now
By light, divinely peaceful
And alas, this carefree weightlessness.

O, that I might transcend
Both time and space
To once again
Feel your breath upon my cheek!

Are you conscious of my nearness?
Do you feel my presence ever with you?

Dry your tears, my love.
All is well.
We have loved a lifetime's worth!

Lift your face that I may once again
See laughter sparkling in rivers of blue.

Smile for me that patrician smile.
Stand tall, Pristine.
Accept all challenges nobly.

I am but a sigh away...

Darling, you have always been my angel.
How fitting that I should be forever yours...

Ok, something not by me. :) Both of these are by Terry Moore, a brilliant man by all accounts.

I Dream of You

I don't know why but I do
Dream of you.
Losing you
I dream of you.
I don't know why but I do
Think of you.
Though we're through
I think of you.

Is it the same way for you?
Doesn't hi and goodbye sound so cruel?
How can I take my heart from you?
Even though I'm losing you,
I still dream of you.
I dream of you.

I don't know why but you still
Give me chills.
Through your faults and pills
You still give me chills.
Is it the same way for you?
Doesn't hi and goodbye sound so cruel?
How can I take my heart from you?
When even though I'm losing you
I still dream of you.
I dream of you.

If You're Leaving Me

If you're leaving me
please don't tell me.
You're still pleasing me.
Do I fail you?
I will wonder today
If tomorrow you'll stay.

I can hear your voice turn cold
When you turn to me I know
I'm the one who won't let go
Are you blaming me for holding on
When you let me know It's my last chance
And I know it's gone.

If you're leaving me
please don't tell me.
You're still pleasing me.
Do I fail you?
I will wonder today
If tomorrow you'll stay.

This morning I was a little boy
I was full of happy dreams
The rising sun shone on my face.
And though I knew of wealth untold
That lay beyond what I did behold
I remained rooted in that sacred place.

But rainclouds they were on the rise
And Tribulation's wind would cry.
But I was not concerned
From past storms I had not learned.
Though loss and gain were never high
Their whispers should have filled my mind.
In the morning the sun did shine
The Longest Day of my Life.

I can't remember days of old
But the village all seems to know
The boy I was in Yesterday.
Oh, but morning fun filled my childish soul
With a fleeting flair for a mundane goal
Without a care my music would cease to play.

The children ran through dew-soaked grass
And we all came slow upon a wooded pass.
They set upon that path
To face the Unknown's wrath.
And I, too afraid to peer inside
I turned my boyish eyes aside.
The world I knew was plenty wide
That Longest Day of my Life.

Cool morning breeze climbed to zenith's heat
The dewy grass dried beneath my feet
Fragrant Paradise in the air.
And some like myself had stayed behind
Beneath a shade tree drinking nectar wine
The darkness of that forest was not theirs.

And the mid-day sun caused my eyes to hide
So, to that shade of plenty I did reside.
And from that forest dark
A Lady, She did walk.
Oh, Her hair was black like the Unknown night
And Her whispers kindled my young heart alight.
The shade at noon gave to Love's burn bright
In the Longest Day of my Life.

That sky of blue changed to orange hue
And a swelter fell on us vagabond youths
The sweet air, it boiled stale.
Sun's loving warmth turned to chiding burn
The red on our skin was a caveat to learn
But I failed to find the moral of the tale.

So Judas cried on a Twilight's Eve
The same tears fell from the King and Queen.
Paradise was broken.
My punishment, unspoken.
So clouds of black marred the bleeding sky
While the box of Pandora spilled curse and blight
I thought I saw a young boy die
That Longest Day of my Life.

Lightning, thunder, and wind tore asunder
The beautiful memory of Yesterday's wonder
All so fast I couldn't cry.
For it was not I that the Tempest bit
But the hearts of kin angry Jupiter hit
Alone and on my knees, I asked Father why.

The answer was one I already knew
Amidst those clouds of melancholy blue.
Epiphany's sweet blessing
Broke ennui's digressing.
But the answer cost a hefty price
The village elder ever-closed her eyes.
Death of wisdom gave to the Phoenix rise
The Longest Day of my Life.

The morning came, and to my dismay
My Love had stole my heart away.
She wrote me an IOU.
And o'er the many thousand miles
I only think of it and smile.
One day those stormy skies will shine clear blue.

And the King and Queen and Guinevere
And all the villagers still here
Stare to the rising sun
My pilgrimage is begun.
Oh, and maybe down that winding way
I'll even hear my Father say
"I'll show you that for which your toils have paid
My son, Tomorrow is another Day."

Do Engrish lyrics work?

Lucy in the sky
I'm whisky frisky
Lady Jane, Marry Jane
Drive me rocked out
No pain, No delight
Get me dry high
Number 24
I need X
Stand up! Frell up!
Show no mercy Like a lunacy
Kick off! Frell off!
I'm getting in the count down
Marry Marry Kiss me Marry
Why do you have to be ripe?
Give me Give me Give me rainy dreams
'Til they kill me away (Lights up)
Slash Slash Let me slash
Boredom Tasteless life
Get me Get me Get me out of the world
'cause I'm crying for rainy roses
Lucy in the sky
Get you up right
Crime of visual shock
You are X
Stand up! Frell up!
Show no mercy Like my jealousy
Kick off! Frell off!
I'm getting in the count down
Marry Marry Kiss me hurry
Why do you have to be ripe?
Give me Give me Give me rainy dreams
'Til they kill me away (lights up)
Marry Marry Kill me Marry
Can't you set me free
Lady Lady Are you ready to go?
Why do you have to be laying down?
