Sigh...I get the feeling we'll be doing quite a lot of OOC comments regarding this thread. So, for Dalethria's sake...I created a thread to discuss these...without getting too much in the thread's way.

To Gaven:

Just delete your last post, since it wasn't your turn in the rotation of action anyways. No sense in editing. The obligation to post within 36 would fall on the next person in line to post, which would be either Tohmahawk or myself.

Relpy to Dagger........

And you just cant go from the edge of the system, past quite a large number of ships to that Interdictor. No way. We have stated there are ships and cloaked minefileds ahead of you and I am not going to put up with any further god moding from you or Gaven. We have put up with a fair bit already, no more. Yes I know this should be in OOC and it will be soon. i just want to make my disgust quite clear. Now, as far a I am concerned, you are beginning to head into the system. Fine, if that is what your going to do, then the defences will be used. Simply going from point a to point b without opposition form a heavily defended system is god moding, plain and simple.

Apologies Dale, I had to get this off my chest. I'll repost this in OCC ASAP

Gaven...my point is that your post is out of rotation, and it should be deleted. Wait for the Cizerack to post, then you can post. You've had way too many posts in rapid succession.

I will wait until your posts have been deleted before I post.

@_@

I read what happened and not sure if the OOC posts should be deleted yet. I'll be back later so leave me a note so I know and if it isn't cleared up ... well, I guess I'll wait :p

Quoted from LD:

<HR>
OOC/ And "disabaling" and then nabing off with one of my ships without giving me as chance to do anything about it isn't god-moding? And why would those defences attack me, last time i checked i had a non-agression pact with the GMA so if it is customary for defences to be fired against those with whom they are at pease then there is something strange going on in my mind, but you want me to rewrite that post then fine, kindly delete my last one
<HR>

Okay, your ship went RIGHT AT US without ANY escort AT ALL. Thought I'd clear that up.

We are jamming everything so I doubt a code could be sent to detonate the Interdictor.

And for the last damn time WE AREN'T GMA!

There.

Gaven...you have at the most four ships that can actually be in firing range of my forces, as you have to LINE up your ships to escape the conduit. Those ships have no shields, and are being heavily bombarded now. With VSD engines you can't exactly BLOW PAST anything, not to mention these ships are under heavy fire. Even with a concentrated assault, you might be able to drop two of my ship's shields...maybe. But disabling THREE battlegalleons in one post? Its ludicrous, and is ignored.

At best, you have four moderately-damaged ships trying to advance under heavy fire, and concentrating everything on maybe two ships...while all eleven of mine can focus firepower on the front four at will.

Its the advantage of NOT being in the conduit. My forces spread out into an inverse V, designed to "cup" the exit, and concentrate all ship batteries on the first thing to exit.

Because you have to line up to escape, you can only bring a few ships into firing range at any given time. All other ships still in the corridor are behind these ships. To hit my ships those ships would have to exit the conduit, or be destroyed.

Its a classic naval maneuver, called "Crossing the T" America used it against Japan during the battle for Leyte Gulf, I believe.

Don't forget, you can always maneuver INTO the mine field....although I'm pretty sure your ships would get quite hammered there, too.

I'm going to get chinese food...I will be back.

I'ld also like to state something. We are overlooking legality of Gaven's ships, because we believe they are illegal. We are quite with our rights to demand build links, but we are not, because we decided we want to make it clear we are going to defend Yavin and not tolerate incursions. Plus, we wanted to check how our defenses and ships work and I wanted to fleet RP.

Thence, we are not going to tolerate any other moding. There is a blanket jamming stopping most communications, there is a an Interdictor field and also minefields and you cant just move from point a to point b in a blink. We gave you chances to surrender and we have even held back on the Defender and Argus. I believe we are being quite fair and resonable so far.

Lord Dagger
Sep 10th, 2001, 05:22:05 PM
key word in FMH post "most" yes most communications are blocked but not all, enough for me to send a self destruct code, and if you want building threads ask and i'll give them to you and they are legal, with the possible exception of my SSD but i have had that discussion before and am not going to do it again. As for the GMA comment....i was told you were GMA, thanks for clearing that up for me, i have nothing to stop me fighting now. I'll accept not running the gauntlet of the defences, but i am sticking with self destructing my ship

Eh, I can see that being feasable...as HoloNet (stuff for key systems in imperial ships) can't be jammed.

Admiral Lebron
Sep 10th, 2001, 06:38:23 PM
And certain forms of line-of-sight laser transmitions. They can't be blocked.

Sanis Prent
Sep 10th, 2001, 06:42:06 PM
they can be blocked easily enough by chaff or....(shock) things blocking line of sight!

Force Master Hunter
Sep 10th, 2001, 07:37:29 PM
Actually Dagger, you have to slice around the jamming. I just simply gave players the opportunity to. So, how did you beat it?

Admiral Lebron
Sep 10th, 2001, 07:40:22 PM
If they used it.. which I would doubt..

Well.. in the heat of a battle consisting of well over a hundred Capital ships, Chaffs become nuscenses..

Sanis Prent
Sep 10th, 2001, 08:43:02 PM
Actually...works wonders....prevents capital batteries from targeting ship systems, as you've gotta manually adjust azimuths...thus prolonging a ship's survival rate.

Also, fired in an approach vector on a ship such as a lancer frigate, provides excellent screen coverage for fighter waves.

i'm with Sanis on this, holonet, used for key imperial systems, can't be blocked, i've been on the reciving end of that before so i'm going to use it to my advantage for once

Sith Master Ogre (7:46:23 PM): none of them have moded dude
Sith Master Ogre (7:51:02 PM): I have seen no valid claims from you that anyone else has god moded in that thread in the topic started in OOC regarding it, as a matter of fact, I don't even think you have defended yourself against the god mode claims made against you in that topic
Sith Master Ogre (7:52:42 PM): http://pub2.ezboard.com/fswvstitanicfrm15.showMessage?topicID=1054.topic
Gaven526 (7:54:25 PM): you are becoming a nuscens

I posted the transcript earlier so those involved in the thread would be aware what was going on.

The only claim he stated regarding god mode was the fact that the Ciz didn’t post for 4 days, yet he did not take and stand behind established fleet rules and use that to his advantage within the thread, and complained that those in the thread did mention that he had 36 hours to post, which I see as within their right to do, especially with forewarning.

People must be willing to accept their own actions and any consequences that may come from them. I play that way with everyone and expect the same from people here.

Thanks for your time and now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

To get her out of that skin tight suit it took a lot of oil......a lot of oil, tugging, screaming, pulling, and proding.

But damn.

Had to love the results

I have considered the request and think instead of your taking command of his entire fleet if that occurs, that you may want to actually consider for realism purposes, perhaps only claiming a percentage of them. He, being evil, would have done all he could to fight you off most likely and incurred some losses, and possibly caused some to your fleet as well. So I think a percentage of it would be more in the spirit of fairplay.

Sergeant Tyle
Sep 14th, 2001, 12:07:55 AM
Agreed....I was prepared to accept logical losses in the engagement. However, with the positioning of my forces and the positioning of his...the loss ratio won't exactly be proportionally even, if you will understand.

I used a lot of strategic and tactical operations to ensure that my forces were exactly where they needed to be...so naturally, my losses will be minimal and my takedowns will be quite high.

If you have any more suggestions, I would be glad to hear them and consider them.
