The delivery boy continued his rounds, this time stopping by a large hangar of sorts. An odd place for a delivery, to say the least. Shrugging, he knocked on the pressed durasteel door.

Uh, package here for a Daleethria? Hello?

Daleethria heard the metallic knocking and opened her eyes. Had Sanis finally returned to releave her of watching the ship? She uncrossed her legs from the lotus position she was sitting in and made her way to the door. With a quick press of the button, it opened and what she saw didn't make sense.

Some weird guy in a uniform that she never saw before was there.

The delivery boy shuffled around nervously. Wow, she was cute!

Uh, are y-you Daleethria? I have a p-package here.

She could almost hear his heart beating faster and smell a touch of sweat in the air. Nodding to him, confirming that was indeed her name, she look curiously at the package he held.

The delivery boy gestured to the signature pad that he held.

Just sign right here, please.

She narrowed her eyes and looked at the pad. Tilting her head to the side, she frowed and looked back at the FedEx person. Daleethria didn't understand why she had to sign for something that was suppose to be her's to begin with.

The delivery boy waited patiently.

Sorry ma'am. Its just regulations.

She took the signature pad and held the pen in her hand. There was a slight problem though. Daleethria never saw anyone write anything nor ever had the chance to learn how to write.

Biting her lower lip, she continued to stare at the pad.

The delivery boy tapped his feet as he waited.

Uh, you can just leave a squiggle on the line. Either that, or an "X".

She took the pen and made a long squiggle line that covered the the entire signature area. Hoping that was good enough, Daleethria handed it back to the FedEx person.

Smiling broadly, the delivery boy took the pen and pad.

Thank you very much. Have a nice day.

The delivery boy walks away. As he does so, Daleethria opens the box. Inside, she finds a bottle of Namana juice, a pink Ithorian tulip, and a note. Inside the note, something is written:

Dear Dalee,

I'm sorry I haven't been back in a few days. Rest assured that I'm working hard on a few jobs, and I will be back before you realize it. I just want you to know I'm sorry about the other day. I didn't mean to hurt you, or make you feel bad. I guess I'm just a little confused by everything that's going on.

You make me smile, Dalee. I can't explain it. I smile when I'm around you, as if you automatically make everything better. When I met you at the bar that day, I thought that you were just a cute face. But I wanted to know more. You didn't say much, but in a way you did. Maybe I should listen a little better. You've definitely got my attention.

I hope I didn't hurt you the other day. That's not what I wanted. I suppose everything just suprised me. You're different, Dalee. Different from anybody else I've been around. Maybe you're making me look at myself in a whole new way, because I never thought I could feel the way you make me feel.

At any rate, I don't want to ramble. I just wanted to let you know I was okay, and in good spirits. Keep watching the ship, and don't let MARCUS fuss at you. I'll be back soon, that much I promise.

See you soon,
Sanis

Reading the letter, Daleethria was confused. She tried very hard to remain impassive about what Sanis had said but deep inside, she felt relief. Relief and a deep sorrow like everything that happened was her fault. Perhaps if she didn't close herself off, maybe he never would had left.

She brushed that thought aside since that is what happened. All that mattered was Sanis still cared and he wasn't angry. Something so simple as these gifts broke down some of the barriers she put up, but not completely. Daleethria picked up the tulip and inhaled it's fragrance. No, she still needed to see him face to face in order to know if everything was truly alright.

The door closed behind her and she made her way back in the ship to properly take care of these simple, yet perfect, gifts.
