After the successful destruction of the Sith Order weapons convoy, the fleet had gotten bolder, and there were additional reports of several other convoys soon to enter the area. Most were too far away to be bothered with, but one had caught their attention.
Informants indicated a convoy carrying garrison troops was leaving on its way to Corellia from Duros when the first attack commenced. The original task force -- consisting of M-90 Cruisers Hunter I and Hunter II, Imperial II Star Destroyers Relentless and Contest, Nebulon-G Destroyer Erias, the Interdictor Cruiser Restrain -- was to rendezvous with the Nebulon-B2 Frigate Reliant V at Nav Buoy Dur-17 just before Corellia, where the convoy would have to change direction.
The task force sat alone in space, some of its fighters launched to patrol the sector. Suddenly a white line emerged from the darkness. The crew prepared to fire, but it was the Reliant V, fashionably early.
"Frigate Reliant V signing in. Heard you boys could use some help."
"Acknowledged. An extra frigate is always appreciated. Task force out."
With those words the convoy exitted hyperspace right behind the frigate. The captain ordered a full one eighty degree turn to bear their guns on them. Restrain activated its gravity well projectors and held on strong, and eighteen squadrons of droid fighters converged to spearhead the attack.
Vice Admiral Minn looked at the sensor scan. A bigger convoy this time. Nine modular conveyors. No escort, but they were designed to make a fight by themselves. Three twin laser turrets on the fore end. He ordered the five groups of bombers to go to pre-launch status as green and red laser blasts simultaneously exchanged between the two sides.
