CALM BEFORE THE STORM -- by Vyk Draygo

(It had been a hard day of drills and training exorcises in the Inferno base compound and the legion members where exhausted and had retired to the barracks for the night. Only a few unlucky troops who had been assigned guard duty could still be seen out patroling the compound...)

(Suddenly, the regular soft glow of the lighting panels in the barracks was replaced by several flashing red emergency lights which moments later was followed by a piercing alarm! The sleeping troops where awakened; some instantly sitting upright in their bunks ready to act at a moments notice while others awake in a daze.)

The intercom springs to life throughout every building and Captain Draygo's voice can be heard...

"Code Red! All troops are to immediately secure their armor and weapons from the nearest weapons locker or armory and report to their assigned perimeter guard post. This is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill. Secure your equipment and prepare for immediate battle! Further orders will be issued momentarily, now move!"

(The troops in the barracks are up and moving now, running in all different directions... The alarm shuts off causing you to be able to hear a Sergeant outside yelling out orders and trying to prevent chaos. You remember that the legion has run through a drill like this once before where everyone was assigned a specific place in the compound to patrol or defend...All over the camp large floodlights flicker on imercing the entire compound with light.)

(((The compound centers around the command building, the barracks are right next to it as well as the maintenance building along with a few others. The armory is located in the side of the command center. A large fence surrounds the compound; the perimeter guard posts consist of several foxholes and gun emplacements. Several permecrete walls run along the inside of the compound as fallback defensive positions...)))

(You sit in a giant theater located on Imperial Center... suddenly right before the show is scheduled to start a giant holoviewer lowers from the ceiling)

(An Imperial Crest rotates on the screen when suddenly an image of a well groomed yet stern looking Imperial Army officer appears on the screen... The man takes a step forward and appears to suddenly step out of the screen and walks onto the stage. The Imperial security guards at the doors all snap to attention as the man begins to speak....)

Greetings loyal Imperial citizens, I am Captain Vyk Draygo of his Emperor Charon's galactic Imperial Army and I have come before you today to announce that the Empire is recruiting.

Protect Imperial citizens, destroy those criminals who oppose the Emperor, and be part of something great.

The Imperial Army along with the Navy is recruiting new members, however I do suggest that you join the Army. Be a member of an Imperial legion and work your way up the chain of command.

The Empire is the largest, best equiped, most organized, best trained, and hardest fighting force in the galaxy. Do you have what it takes?

Being an Imperial is no picnic, you will be expected to uphold certain ideals and be a model member of the galaxy yet be a trained killing machine at the same time.

Are you interrested? If so head on down to the nearest recruiting office and sign up today... And let it be a warning that we dont allow any alien scum into our ranks or any former members or certain outlaw groups.

I will see you all at the accademy.

(The Captain looks over the audiance for a minute then about faces and marches back into the screen as it accends... as the show begins you think upon the Cpt's words...)
