SW & member web design do's & don'ts?

I originally posted this on the prop forum but no one bothered to respond. I'm hoping for a little more luck in here.. As some of you already know, I am newer to the forum and to prop building. My current project is a small run of (hopefully accurate if not very attractive) hi quality Vader sabers. I am in the process of creating a website dedicated to my hobbies and of course the process and sale of these sabers. I am a "complete novice" in this area, but after seeing some of the websites created by the people on this board I have become very inspired. Most if not all of you have fantastic websites and admirable skills and ideas. (Now that I've stroked you all), here's my question; Can any of you give me some insite on the do's and don'ts of using "SW" type fonts, pics, graphics..etc. I noticed many of you have this type of stuff on your websites. I just need to know who's toes not to step on. Also, many of you have beautiful backgrounds, and animated "gifs" which are very attractive. Are they borrowable or is there a place where one can find such things for use. I hope you're all understanding what I'm asking here. It's kind of hard to ask in text form.. Thanks for your time.

Greetings viper! I would suggest that you e-mail the person whose pages and pics you admire and ask where they got them. If that person created the pic then explain what you're up to and most will probably let you borrow them. Same with backgrounds. Also just to be on the kind side: you could add a credit to the maker of the image and/or a link to their site. Hope this kinda helps.
