You usually register a name as a global user, but if your name's already taken, you can still register, but as a local user, but you're limited to this forum instead of any EZboard. Most people just pick a name that's not already taken and register globally.

Yes, what Bromine said. Basically it's:

Global User (Jedi Knight) - ability to post on ANY ezboard that's open for normal posters.

Local User (Rogue Jedi) - can only post on the board they registered on.

If you're a global user you can also create your own ezboard. Local users can't.
