Angelfire.com gave me 50 Mb!

If I've ever said anything bad about Angelfire, I take it back! I was preparing to move my site since I was approaching the 5 Mb limit, when out of the blue they announce members can get 50 Mb of space free! Just felt like sharing the happy news.:) (I'm also taking this opportunity to plug my site, of course.)

But do they allow remote linking again, or is that still not allowed? The main reason why I ditched Angelfire in the first place was because they disallowed remote linking.

Geocities does still, though there are rumours that they're considering removing remote linking as well.

You could also try <A HREF=http://www.namezero.com>NameZero</A>, which allows you to register a '.com' domain name for free (you can buy it off them after a year if you want, or you can continue to use their free service), but I don't know if there are any other strings attached. Worth a look regardless. See also the 'sithempire.com' thread below for more info on it.

If you just want the space and not a web page, you could look into a Driveway account. I'm not sure how it works exactly, but Angelfire advertises the heck out of it.

Can anyone tell me which thing (geocities, dencity, etc.) provides the most webspace for the free website stuff. I know I'm not using the techo-babble, but I'm still a little naive about the internet terms.

I have no idea, really. Angelfire's 50 Mb is pretty high. (I can't see anyone using more than that for a webpage.)

Geocities provides 15mb, which is plenty if your only thinking of a small website and a few images for yourself to use.

My site is hosted by Angelfire, and almost every page I have is 50MB now...and that is pretty cool, except for the linking pics to other services such as Ez Board, and other sites, such as Top 50 SW Sites, Top 200 Sw Sites.

All my images on my Ez Board Discussion Forum are hosted by Geocities, and I hope and pray they don't disable the remotre linking feature..this will suck..also, I have an account with DRIVEWAY, but they don't provide much webspace...
