Greetings, I'm not usually checking this forum out so it may be better posted in the Expanded one. I'll leave that up to the mods.
For whomever does custom figures, drop by Wal*Mart rather quickly and check out the Soldiers Of The World 12" figures, they are at quite a bargin right now (atleast here) and will supply you with some loooooooooow cost, well articulated blank bodies and heads for custom figs.
