Question Re: Mara Jade's "Emperor's Hand" Lightsab

The lightsaber the actress uses on the trading card is from "By the Emperors Hand".

Question: What happend to it between that book and "Heir to the Empire"?

Anybody have a clue?

Here's a big 'ol guess: In a comic (forget which one, but must have been one of the Mara Jade series) a wall of weapons is shown & I think they all belong to her. Perhaps she clipped the orginal up and choose another. After all, variety is the spice of life...(grin).

Actually, in "Heir to the Empire" it says that Mara had only picked up a lightsabre a handful of times in her life. That gave me the impression she didn't keep one with her all the time.

Well, it is true that she only used a lightsaber sparingly, but she is quite adept at it. Mara can use any weapon at her disposal, so for the Emperor Hand's Limited Series, the saber was needed the most and easily concealed. There are not a lot of detection devices that can pick up the energy signature. When it comes to Heir to the Empire, she is hiding out and does not want people to know of her force abilities, no reason to carry a lightsaber around
