Has anybody else picked it up yet? I just got my copy today and already it is great. I think the books keep getting better and better.

I finished it last night. Let me say this;
JACEN SOLO IS THE WHINNIEST PUNK IN THE GALAXY!
He makes amends towards the end of the novel but he spends the majority of it bitching and moaning about the evils of using the Force. I haven't been this annoyed by a SW character since Calista herself. Actually, Calista had more balls than Jacen. Wuss! >p
This novel is pretty good though. I like the fact that the Vong continue to dominate. The New Republic is reeling and the ending sets up the next novel quite well. The Jedi will be under siege and it should be interesting to see what happens.

I just finished reading it too, and I agree about your assement on Jacen, I got sick of his winning. I did like how they portrayed the other characters in the novel, including Mara, Jania, and Han. I thought those character were all well done. I can't wait for the next book unfortunately it wouldn't come out until March :( I want to know what happens to Leia's legs. And I also want to see if my theory comes true about the return of the Sith, I really am hoping that a sith lord appears using the vong to take over the republic I was thinking it was thinking it was Senator Viqi Shesh, but I have a few doubts about her now. I guess I will have to wait in order to find out.

Well, I've read it several times, and I agree about Jacen. He's annoying me.
Besides that, I'm wondering what'll happen about Anakin. He's very strong, and a bit exuberant in his use of the Force. I wonder if he won't go to the Dark Side. Wouldn't that be fun?
I had some trouble with the book what concerns some scenes. I found it hard to keep reading some scenes, as they rambled on and on and I had trouble actually visualizing what was going on. Anyone else have that problem?

That was an awesome book. It really kept me on the edge of my seat. The words painted a vivid picture of what was going on. I really loved it. Balance Point was one of those books you want so badly to get done with to see what happens, and yet you want it to keep going for forever! Ever read a book like that?
I love star wars books. they really do keep getting better and better. Can't wait for the next one.
I do agree about Jacen, though. He really got on my nerves, but I think the story needed it. It thickened the plot and made it more interesting. Also, Jacen's character needed it. All of them are having struggles, why should he be left out?
I'm glad Han and Leia got back together. It was really messed up when they were apart.
Can you believe Mara's PREGNANT! That's awesome!
I really loved that book.

Star wars books get better and better? Nope. They started excellent and went downhill.
The NJO has had some bright points... but all in all, it could have been a hell of a lot better.
