Not novels, but the video game.:)

The set includes X-Wing, TIE Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance. Honestly, this is probably going to be the first game I've bought in years. I usually just download demos or play older games. Recently I was inspired to crack out the ol' copy of X-Wing and I was surprised that even after 7 years it was still the best video game I've played, despite the outdated graphics and sound. I could play those same missions over and over and never get bored.
Why is it so great? Probably because it relied on challenging gameplay instead of a lot of graphics. I really can't stand video games that play out like a movie where you occassionally get to click a button and you know before you start that it's only a matter of time before you'll finish it. With X-Wing, there were some missions that I thought I'd never get through, so I actually had a feeling of accomplishment when I finished the game.
I've played TIE fighter but didn't enjoy it as much as X-Wing. I found the missions just weren't as enjoyable for some reason, and all the secondary/secret objectives got confusing. I haven't tried Alliance at all.
But I digress: The graphics appear to be heavily updated while keeping the same overall look and feel. I assume the sound is also better. I'm so gald they're giving one of the best games ever a face-lift!:)

I downloaded them off the Internet a few months back. Neither really worked though. TIE Fighter just wouldn't run and X-Wing would not allow you to proceed beyond the first few missions. It was fun still, but the graphics are dated (see an X-Wing coming out of hyperspace in 'X-Wing' and you'll know what I mean). Oh well. :)
