I'm not sure if anyone else here reads comics but in Uncanny X-Men #390(newest issue) a X-Man dies. There was a rather nasty mutant virus that had been going around for a while and to stop it Colossus injected himself with the cure(first person who used it would die to manifest the cure). His sister had been killed by it so he felt he needed to use it on himself.

Now Death in comics usually ever lasts but this one looks like its for good. I think it meant way too much for them to cheapen it to bring him back, that and in X-Men #110 the whole issue was a letter written by Shadowcat(X-Man in love with Colossus) to Prof X saying she couldn't do it anymore. At the end she takes his ashes back to Russia and spreads them to the wind and then quits the X-Men.

Not sure if anyone cared but I thought some may have wanted to know.

Course that should also remove at least Colossus from the next X-Men movie, I doubt they'll use a character who is no longer appearing in the comics.

I wish we got all this cool stuff :(

X-men are a kids thing over here, although I do have about 10 comic books from the US, which I treasure and adore

There aren't any comic shops or anything like that over there? You can always find one and set up a mailorder type thing and get these mailed to you.

I saw that too and I was kind of surprised that he died. Still, I would never put it pass them to bring him back if not in the current series at least in new X-Men Unlimited. The comics have done this before I remember in the Fantastic Four when they killed off both Dr. Doom and Reed Richards and then months later they brought both of them back supposidly a being called Hyperstorm took them both the moment before they died. And lets not forget the Death of Superman it did not take them that long to bring him back. Just about every superhero and villain seems have died at one time or another from Iron man to the Joker so I think Colossus might come back most likely in Marvel's new X-Men Unlimited which I think it where they have started the entire X-Men saga from the beginning. And I don't think this will stop them from putting Collossus in a X-Men sequel because I'm not sure if he's back or not, maybe you know jjwr but Cyclops was killed recently I think Apocalpse killed him or something but I remember reading one issue where they found out Apoclapse had just merged with Cyclops or something. I haven't picked up one recently besided the Colossus story so I don't know if it was resolved or not.
