Did anybody catch this USA miniseries? It deputed on Tueseday and Wed and was shown again on Sunday. It was not a bad miniseries considering USA made it. Still it a less than well known cast with only Powers Booth and Tim Curry as the two only well known actors. Me being a histoian I was intriguied by the story, they had an unknown play Attila. Still I was a little disapointed by some of its flaws. Most of the I understand because we know very little about Attila all our sources are Roman historians who were very biased for good reason he was burning their cities. Roman historians make Attila out to be ugly and short while the movie makes him tall, strong, and handsome. The first two makes sense, since he had to be both in order to lead the huns as far as looks go who know there are no portraits of him any where. The major flaw in the film, in my opinion came in the part 2 because they skipped three years of his life. First they showed him invading Gaul (France) in 451 A.D. then after he loses they have him return to the east and then die. In real life he lived another three years until 454 in the process he reinvaded the west this time Italy coming very close to Rome only to be stoped by Pope Leo the Great who somehow convinced Attila to leave. Its not that they just skip this important event the also change how he died they show him killed by his new wife which is ludicrous becuase he actually died odddly enough of a nosebleed. I wish they would have added another hour to it just to include these facts becuase I actually enjoyed 2/3 of it but hated they had to end it so quickly.
