I've stopped by half a dozen times in the last few days and no one has posted anything. Where the hell is everyone? In other news HANNIBAL looks to win another weekend...and the BAFTA's(the British Academy) awards their awards tonight.

Monkeybone didn't even make it into the top ten. looks like we have our first major flop of the year.

The movie looked interesting but I didn't think it would flop this bad....guess it cost 70 Million to make too.

Monkeyboned gets boned at the box office!! Oh, how I hate myself for using such a bad pun!
I can't believe MB has bombed this badly. I saw plenty of ads for it the last couple of weeks and I even saw a trailer for it when I went to the movies on 2/12. The movie certainly didn't look cheap. I think the film was hurt by relying on an animated character that no one knew anything about. Still, $2M is really sad.

Plus they had no huge actor to carry the movie even though Brenden Fraiser was in it he is still not considered a star and has been in quite a few duds (Dudley Do Right to name one) The rest of the cast were mostly nobodys granted most of them have talent but they are not well known stars (Bridget Fonda, Chris Kattan, Dave Foley) To make it worse the critics tore it apart calling it the worst film of the year making even less people want to go see it.

I thought it looked absoultely stupid, and I still can't take Fraser seriously,
so I'm glad it bombed. It's restored my faith in humanity. :)

If MB cost 70 mill to make, would this make it a worse flop than Battlefield : Earth? BE did afterall take 24 mil on a budget of 80 mill.
That's something to be rally concerned about.

I think it looked pretty dumb, probably the best part of the movie is Rose McGowan in that cool cat costume

Battlefield Earth will probably fare better overseas than MB ever will because of the genre, the FX, and Travolta. MB doesn't have any of those things going for it. Although it wouldn't surprise me if the French made it their highest grossing film of the year. Stupid Frenchies. ;)
