There have been reports that both Lost in Space and Battlestar Galactica will return to TV in the next few years. I know Bryan Singer is behind the project as producer and it will appear on USA probably in the next year. I have no idea on the storyline or cast yet. Now for Lost in Space I have heard that an ex producer of the show is behind it and wants to make a new series. I think both of these shows could work. Lost in Space had a recent adaptation that wasn't very good but I think its better suited for TV the same with Battlestar Galatica. Has anybody else heard any thing else about these two TV series returning.

I've hear about Cattle Car, ;)

Hopefully Lost in Space won't be anything like that mess of a movie.

I'm pretty skeptical about Galactica. They kind of tried this when Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict left the show. Everyone remember those last episodes with the sons of Apollo and Dirk Benedict's character, (I've blanked on the name.) I thought it sucked, and they still had Lorne Green in it. Who knows though, it could still be good.

haha, yeah Lost in Space the TV show is a piece of corny crap. I don't know how old people used to watch this crap, we have so much better TV now. 60's and 70's TV is utterly pathetic, if that is all that was on, I'm sure our generation would be A LOT more active too! You can't blame us for higher quality television.

Lost in Space the movie sucked hard, but the TV show is even more unbearable.

Plus, Lost in Space (the movie) has a special place in history for dethroning that stupid boat movie on its 15th weekend or whatever. I have an unopened copy of the DVD sitting on a shrine in my room, and I pray to it every day and thank it for sinking the boat. Thank you Lost in Space.

lol, just kidding, but I've considered it. :)

Actually Lost in Space is not that bad of a show. Watch the first season the show was much more serious than what it became. By the time the show went color we had attack of the carrot people. I have no clue why it went to such corny story lines it similar to what happened to Sliders (a very similar show) The show was very serious during its first 2 season but in Season 3 they started ripping off movies and then killed off a major character and added a babe who couldn't act. I agree that the movie was bad mostly though for two reasons it had a confusing story, too much time warp stuff and William Hurt was no John Robinson he could not even play the part. Oldman did do a good job as Dr. Smith but he was no where near as good as Jonathan Harris who was brilliant at times as Dr. Smith. But really I think they could redo the show if they kept it series except for Smith who needs to be comedic and evil. As long as they didn't have silly plots and bad special effects they would be fine. As far as Battlestar Glaticca goes I think the show is in good hands with Singer he is a great director and could make the show top notch. I am just wondering if the special effect budget would just kill the show.

The tv show had a certain something, especially if you were a kid. It really DID go downhill, though. they had Space bikers, Space Pirates, Space Juvenile Deliquents, Space Wrestlers....

It's pretty amazing how many of our ORIGINAL 60's and 70's tv shows are being made into crappy movies that teens TODAY have to go watch....

Hey, is it me, or did Battlestar Gallactica have the first "battledroids?" (The Cylons) :)

I loved the cylons .
I loved the one where appolo got stranded on a small planet and at the end he had to have a duel(pistol) with a trained cylon.

sit red eye.

That's was a really good episode.

I was kind of reminded of it when ESB came out, and Han does a quick draw when the door opens and he sees Vader.

The cylons were great villians. The voices and costumes were perfect and Galactica had really neat ships and toys. I never thought it was a rip off of SW. I just thought they were trying to capitalize on the success of SW and the interest ANH had generated for sci-fi moives and TV shows. I vaguely remember that episode as well. Was it Starbuck or Apollo who dueled the trained cylon at the end? I think it was Starbuck but I'm not sure.

I think it was Starbuck too. Not positive though.

They show re-runs on the Sci-fi channel. I saw one once, it looked like it was going downhill before the whole Galactica 1980 thing.

I agree about it not really being a rip-off. I think it was one of Lucas' more Bill Gatesian moments to try to sue them. I mean there are obvious similarities, but nothing that was really a direct rip-off.

Unless Muffet was an early rip off of the Ewoks idea..... ;)

hahaha, no offense but it scares me that you guys actually know the episodes of these series'! :)

I loved Sliders, but you're right about it going downhill :(

They killed the best actor on the show, and then the hot babe was not at all a good actor, nor was anyone else. The plot concepts were great, really neat, but the acting, unfortunately, hurt greatly, and so did the lowered budget of the sci-fi channel when it moved.

Sliders was so damn cool though, I miss that show being on Fox, I remember I watched it every Friday, never missed an episode. That was a great lineup, Sliders at 8 then X-Files at 9...

Jerry O'Connell was pretty good in the show, the other two weren't great actors but they worked for a TV show. I think also Fox did not stay with it, it was constantly switching time periods going from Sunday, Wed, Friday, to Thursday, that was a stupid stragety they should have left it on Friday and it would have attracted viewers and I have also read that it was Fox exs who started messing up with the stories by Season 3 they wanted to do movie rip offs, Lost World, Tremors, Species, among others and then in the worst movie they killed off a great character because these same bozos wanted some hot actress for guys to drool over and she is not that pretty to begin with. The original producer of the show skipped after season 2, Torme because he hated Fox's plans for the show. And don't even mention the show on the scifi channel, it was watchable in season 4 but 5 was terrible mostly because the heart and soul of the show, the whole reason they were sliding was written out. The story that they came up with made no sense and I could barley watch any of the other episdoes but I did watch the last one it was as bad as the rest of them. I have been hoping for it to return one day in some form, I heard a while back that one of the creators of the show Robert Weiss wanted to do a movie but I have not heard if that was just his hope or he plans on doing it. I would like to see one only if they bring back the original cast and kill of that terrible actress that replaced Aturo in the first 10 minutes.

No offense taken Jon! :) But don't worry, a few years from now you'll scare somebody by actaully knowing episodes and cast members from Sliders! ;)

I never watched Sliders that much and I certainly didn't watch it when they killed off the lead actor. Didn't he leave for bigger and better things though? He had that bit part in Jerry Maguire and he's got a new movie coming out in a few days doesn't he?

I forgot about Muffet. I hated that little robotic freak. There's something I wish the Cylons would've had a chance to blast into oblivion!

lol, ok point taken :)

Well Jerry O'Connell is a cool guy, he did a good job in Sliders, but the black guy wasn't that great, and the first girl was the worst, then they brought the second girl who sucked hard too. The girls on that show had no acting ability, and they weren't *that* hot.

It was kind of odd too, I dunno, made me wonder if they just tried to please all segments of the audience. Ok so you got a fat white guy, a black guy, a girl, and a slim white guy. Hmm...I think they needed an hispanic, an Asian, and a Native American, but that's just me. :) lol.

I'm just cynical about their motivations behind that, and those actors were not real good. They probably are doing some sanitation engineering for Fox now.

Hey you know what I saw yesterday? I saw this truck that said, "Doggie Butler Service," and their slogan was "#1 in the #2 business." I cannot believe it, so this guy cleans up dog crap for a living. That would just make a great conversation at a dinner party. "Yeah, so what do you do for work?" "Oh, I clean up dog sh*t, what about you?" LOL.
