Rumors are starting to surface about another convention. Everything I've read suggests next spring. I was just curious, who here would consider going? It would have to be pretty close to Virginia for me to even consider it. I'm tempted by the fact that Wizards now owns the Fan Club and we all know who owns Wizards don't we? The makers of the world's greatest toy line!

(Yes, I know the Joes rule jjwr. give me a break, it's a SW board. ;) )

Is this a Con or a Star Wars Celebration thingy?

A SW Celebration similiar to the one in Denver, only without all of the reported hassles.

If it were in Montreal, I'd go. So in short, no, I'm not going.

It's official, the next SW convention will be held in Indianapolis, IN on May 1-6, 2002. That's about an 8-10 drive for me. That's close, but I don't know if it's close enough for me to spend a weekend back in Indianapolis. (I spent a summer on active duty at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana.)

That's a 751 mile drive for me, so I think I'll pass.

Oh come on, what kind of loyalty is that you poops?! LOL.

Just because it's far away you don't want to go? Man you guys are lazy as Hutts! LOL.

I'd go even if it were on the moon, providing someone was offering flights ;)

The first celebration was great, despite what some people said, and the next one is bound to be much better in this case (because of the few problems with the first one).

I must say Indianapolis, Indiana is an odd spot, I think, I would have preferred to see it in California because of its more central location to the film industry, etc, but oh well. It's not "official" yet, though. I am not saying I think they'll change it, but just a clarification on what Jedieb said, because LFL has not officially confirmed it. I cannot wait until the next convention, though, it'll be cool.

I need to go there for "research" on my next book ;)

Obviously GL is being greedy. ;)

If it's in the middle of the country - more peopel can theoretically go -because it's not as far,, on average. It it was just on the West Coast, many many east coast people wouldn't even think about going to it. Now, everyone's doing road miles calculations in their heads.

I think it's as official as it can get. The RCA Dome already had the event listed on their website the day the report came out at TFN. Wizards/Hasbro has obviously gone ahead and put the money down on the Hall. These conventions need to be booked several months in advance in order to get a decent venue so the timetable seems about right. 8-10 hours is a pretty long drive for a 3 year old and an infant so that's my problem. There has to be more "family entertainment" in Indianapolis for me to consider going. If I were still in school some buddies and I would make a road trip out of it and hit some bars at night, but those days are long gone. :(

An east or west coast location would put many fans out of the picture. Hopefully this location will enable some fans to make a trip they normally might not have.

Sorry for the double post earlier, my bad.

Buff, a road trip with you would only lead to bar room brawls and a night in the Indianapolis city jail. ;)
