What an awesome run this moive's had. Considering it's now been in the top ten for over 10 weeks solid and always made money in low to medium theatre counts and only now showing signs of a drop off.... its a pity it never got No1. 120 million is damn good for a foriegn language film

It has had an UNBELIEVABLE run. You are so right. CTHD has doubled the old record for a foreign film gross(LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL - 57.6M). What an incredible run. It's very similar to AMERICAN BEAUTY's run in that both films opened small...staggered their release....and then grossed huge after oscar noms. AB finished at 145 or so...CTHD might hit 130M.

I don't think another foreign language film will top CTHD for at least 15 years.

It has doubled the previous record, which would be like if Titanic had made $920 million in just the U.S., a record that would probably stand for about 40 years, haha.

For a foreign film to make over $20 million is amazing, but over $100 million is unthinkable. I'm very happy to see it do so well, because I'd love to have more Hong Kong action and Chinese films arrive on our shores in theaters, instead of just on crappy DVD releases.
