Didn't last weekend just end? It's a new month and a new race. Things are heating up, and with 3 new movies in wide release the newer players have a chance to make up some ground on the top performers.
The Animal and What's The Worst That Could Happen start this week, and Ewan Obi Wan's Moulin Rouge finally moves beyond the NY/LA areas. We're back to normal points and a 3 day weekend, so adjust your prognosticating powers accordingly. :-P
Pick the order of the top 5 movies for the weekend, and how much they'll make (rounded to the nearest 10k).
Good Luck to all and remember: If you don't play, you can't win.
[Oh yeah, the DEADLINE is Friday night/Saturday morning - 3:00 am CC.net (http://www.coruscantcity.net/CoruscantCity/board/Forum2/HTML/000179.html) time, 12:00 midnight Swfans.net time. So if you're planning on going out and partying make sure you post your entry early.]

1. Pearl Harbor - $41.84 million
2. Shrek - $33.62 million
3. Moulin Rouge - $20.11 million
4. The Animal - $13.67 million
5. The Mummy Returns - $9.54 million
I think The Mummy Returns will just barely beat What's the Worst That Could Happen?, which I predict will take in around $9.30 million. Of course, knowing my luck, I'm way off on all of them. :p

I can't see two movies doing 40 plus million. I think it's really rare that 2 flicks do 30 million.

Darth, what about last week? $75 million for Pearl Harbor, $54 million for Shrek....

I think its safe to say that Pearl Harbor will remain #1 this weekend a clear reason I think it will is because it made about 10 million on Tuesday and wed combined. That is pretty good money, it rare for a film to make four to five million on a weekday and I think the money it made shows the film has some legs. I'm going to hold off on a prediction till tomorrow I'm not sure what to expect from the new release. To me they all look like crap, of course there is probably and I have to try to keep my bias against Moulin Rouge (it just looks stupid to me) in order to figure out much it and the rest of the newbies will make.

Rememeber you can change it up until the deadline.
Last week was a Holiday weekend AND a 4 day weekend. PH and Shrek DID make over 40 million for the 3 day perdiod, but Sunday's numbers were still larger than normal because people didn't have to work to go to school on Monday.
It's pretty common for films to drop 40-50% after a holiday weekend.

If we wanted to change our predictions, do we do a new message or just edit our first post? I edited my first one, but I don't know if I was supposed to do that or post a new msg. But my new predictions are in my edited post, just so you know.

Ezboard put the time the message is editted, so it's cool to edit up until the deadline. At ccnet it's probably better to post a new message (and maybe get rid of the original prediction, to help me out). :D
