I guess I should have been a lot more down on all the new movies. Ghosts of Mars completely tanked.
Maybe I lucked out and got one of the movie grosses correct.

Reap - you're looking pretty good for the number 1 movie. Looks Like I'll get The Others correct, I'm .01 away from the estimate.

I guess kids are back in school and too tired to go out to the movies. I can't believe JASB did so poorly. 11-12M is a pretty poor showing for a movie with that many screens in it's first week. Oh well, I guess there's always next week. :(

JASB probably gave Kevin Smith one of his biggest, if not his biggest opening ever. But I don't think any of his other films had this much hype or such high expectations. Oh well, I just hope I get a chance to see it soon, it looks fun to me.

I got 2 and 5 right I should never went with Ghost of Mars either I knew it was bad when I saw the preview. I think Jedieb is right though. With school back less people are going to the movies, so I guess we shouldn't be surprised. Still, I thought JABSB would do somewhere close to 20, I guess it could do well with word of mouth and stuff. Now the question is will AP2 maintain #1 for four weeks. The only major release (that I have heard about) is horror film Jeepers Creepers it could knock it off but I doubt it would do more than 15 million for the 4 day weekend.

A decent movie can have a 20 million dollar opening any time of the year. Jay and Silent Bob had decent buzz and Kevin Smith toured the late night talk shows. I didnt' see a huge number of commercials, but I saw a few. I just think it didn't appeal to enough people.
