It is shocking to see a rising star and a person with her whole life in front of her die and such is the case with Aaliyah. She was a pretty good singer and was just starting a film career (she was suppose to be in the upcoming Matrix sequels). Its very sad seeing somebody so young die like that.

The girl from Romeo Must Die? If you've seen that, you'd know instantly.

This is really sad. Those Matrix roles would have really done wonders for her career. She'd already been so successful musically (although I wasn't a fan) that her acting success was just icing on the cake. Who knows how well she could have done. RIP Aaliyah. :(

Rest in Peace..

Are we sure that she hadn't shot at least one of the movies yet?

I thought I read she filmed some of her scenes for Matrix 2 I have no clue how much (I know the Matrix films have been having a lot of shooting problems). She was cast for a role in Anne Rice's queen of the Damned but I don't really know if filming is complete or still ongoing.

=(

I am not usually that sad when a celebrity dies because half of the time it is because of old age and although it is too bad, they had wonderful careers and did a lot of great work. Either that or I didn't know them and although it is sad maybe, not to me because people die every second, and if I don't know a celebrity that well, it doesn't really mean much to me.

But Aaliyah was the first celebrity I really cared about who died. I liked her music a good deal, actually, at least many songs. She was great in Romeo Must Die and she added a lot to that movie. She was very good looking, too, and I hear nice.

It's so sad that she was only 22 and just like that, gone. I cannot hardly believe it. It's hard to think she is gone now and that's it. :(

It's already been a tough week, so that was not the kind of news I was hoping for.

Her 1994 song "At Your Best (you are love)" is one of all time favorite songs. A truly wonderful ballad. She had a wonderful voice, one of the best voices of the current generation. I really liked her music. It's sad a loss of such a young talent and person.

I just learned that Aaliyah had completed filming the sequel to Anne Rice's "Interview with the Vampire" Part II, "Queen of the Damned." before she died. I'm definately going to see that when it's released next year.

Damn, this girl was fine.:( I'm talking Halle Berry Fine Ed.

EDIT: Aaliyah also completed fiming for the Matrix II

Aaliyah had already completed the initial shooting for the Matrix II in Los Angeles last month and was scheduled to fly to Australia after the New Year to finish up principal photography for The Matrix II & III.
