Mace speaks:
<font color="yellow">"And there's not so much Jar Jar Binks."</font>
Let's hope he's right.

I dont mind Jar-Jar. GL is clever, he is using JJ as the emotions. Funny, hate, sympathy, all from one film. Pride, happiness, sadness and regret will be in the next two.

I personally think that Jar Jar was a lame attempt on GL's part to appeal to little children. Part of the magic of the original trilogy was the fact that, while not directed at children, they were films you could "watch with the whole family" (to use the cliche).

I have a different take on Jar Jar. I have always said GL has used him to set the tone of the galaxy as it exists in TPM. And I would think that either he would become jaded or be used less as the tone darkens. In TPM, he represents the slapstick, carefree innocence that is lost as the Empire rises to tyranny.

Original trilogy comic relief:
R2 & 3PO
TPM comic relief:
Jar Jar

I look at Jar Jar with that comparison in mind. If I had seen Jar as a 7-year old the way I first saw R2 & 3PO then maybe I'd have a different take on Jar Jar. I just don't find him that funny. At times he downright annoying at. I never thought that of the droids when I was a kid, and now as an adult I still find them funny and not the least bit annoying. Do I hate Jar Jar? No, but I can't say I wouldn't mind seeing less of him in EP2 & 3.

Exactly, I still find r2 & 3p0 hilarious, and always have. jar jar I never really found all that funny. I can definetly get used to seeing less of him. Here's to hoping he becomes a bit role! :)

I actually had no problem with Jar Jar, I guess I went in to the theater with a different mindset or something because he never bothered me actually one of the funnest scene in my opinion involves him, it when Qui-Gon catches his tongue. Really it would make sense that he would have less screen time in the next movie because with Qui-Gon dead he has no real purpose, though I read somewhere that he was going to help guard Amadila in the next one regardless I see him having a secondary role in the next two movies.

Hmmm...good point. Guess he really blew the whole "life debt" thing, didn't he?:)
