Episode II Inquiries

Does anyone know if Darth Maul will be returning for Episode II (I assume that Episode II deals with the clone wars but then again I could be totally wrong). Enlighten me almighty Star Wars fans with your great knowledge.

I am almost certain he will not be coming back. There will be a new sith in EP 2 not sure who it is yet all I know is that his name is Darth Tyranus who plays him is anybody's guess. Their is a rumor that Christopher Lee plays him though if he plays the role or is just the voice is hard to say. Of course this rumor could be wrong, their is a martial arts expert that was hired to play someone in EP 2 but his character has never been anounced. I guess we will have to wait to find out.

There used to be theories that HE himself wouldn't return, but a clone of him would. And a clone of Darth Maul although exactly the same, is technically not Darth Maul. But I don't think we'll see any more of him.

But most of those theories were from fans, not anything close to a legit source. Stick a fork in Maul, he's done.

Darth Maul will definately NOT be returning in episode 2. I know Rick McCallum has been quoted on this and so has George Lucas. (though i cant remember which interview he stated that in) But he mentioned a big part of the story was palpatines need to find an apprentice to aid him in his plans. Christopher Lee is playing count dooku in episode 2. It hasnt been officialy confirmed yet, but he will also reveal himself to be darth tyranus later in the film. There are several sources that have stated this and the people "in the know" all confirm that he is indeed the next sith apprentice and will be until anakin cuts him down

Yeah I think that is the case but my question is, is Lee shown as his current age 70ish which would make him older than Palpatine or does somebody else play the part and Lee suplies the voice, I guess there are other possibilites like a cgi sith or others I cannot think about.

I remember reading somewhere ,,,Lucas or Rick said that If you thought Maul was a bad ars(not exact words) that the next guy would blow you away.Now no offense to Lee but I just couldnt see him being a KICK ARS kind of sith as maul was.I hope that Jedi Carr has something there with him being the voice or something.

I agree I think Lee is a great Actor and I am glad to see him in Ep2 but I can't see him fighting against obi-wan and Anakin. Most likely there is something about him that Lucas does not want to reveal it could be the surprise of the movie and I really have trouble speculating what it might be.

your so right Carr,Lee is great Im glad he is in there too ,And I hope Lucas has something special in mind for him.And i have a feeling he does =)

Completely different, new character maybe? Or maybe a role as a Republic official. That would be cool, being part of both sides with two characters.
