Star wars on TV??

So has anyone else seen the commercials for starwars coming this summer on fox? Anyone know what it is about?
The commercial I saw only had a title... Pod Races
That was followed up with "coming soon"

I read that the Television Premiere for TPM was coming to FOX in April. (It's coming to commercial television before going to a movie channel or PPV.) Perhaps that is what you saw?

possibly... I got the feeling from the commercial that it was something new though. I'll be watching cartoons this weekend so I'll keep an eye out for it again...

I cannot believe that PM is going to be on TV before its available on DVD.... can we find a format that is worse than broadcast TV, so Lucasarts can put PM on that too? Is PM available on 8mm yet? ;)

ya know... SOME PEOPLE can't even afford it on Video, much less afford to pay for cable.

Personally, it think Lucas shoudl get some credit.

I give lucas lots of credit, but I'm upset about the fact that Lucas is all about image and sound quality, but then he releases his masterpiece on VHS only.... Which doesn't have good sound or image quality. It just doesn't seem right to me.

You will probably get your wish the TPM DVD is suppose to come out by the end of this year this according to rumors in Hollywood. Fox nor Lucas have made though official announcement yet though but I think they are holding off on it just in case there is a delay in the process.

Lucas is a businessman first and foremost. He knew we'd buy only the DVD if it had been out, so he did the VHS thing so he could reissue it on the new format and get us to buy that also.

I recently scored a good buy on ebay, the original trilogy (not special editions) widescreen box set! it is awesome!!

The one that came in the blue box? That was a great set. It was pretty pricey, somewhere around $80-$100, but that's what wives and birthdays are for. It's nice to have a widescreen set of the OT without the SEs. I'm hoping the ultimate DVD set Lucas and Co. keep talking about will have the original versions along with the SEs. It would be a real shame not to have those included. :(

Personally I would like to wait till E3 came out and they would sell the whole collection together in DVD.But they know we will buy one by one if they release each seperately.And I hope they Include the SE's on DVD too.

I personally feel that when Star Wars does come out on DVD, especially if it's all 6 episodes, that it will be just as big of an event as the release of any of the new episodes. I can already see myself camping out for it because I feel that if you don't camp out...or have it preordered, then you will miss out on getting the DVD's the first time around and have to wait until another shipment arrives. Either that or pay 3-4 times as much to get it off eBay or from some dumbass scalper. Ok, that's my 2 cents...

FYI - I saw the commercial again last night while watching Dark Angel, and it is just a commercial for PM on TV on april 29th (I think).

Oh well, guess its not a SW series...
