A request (ideas or graphics for our board)

I’d like to take the opportunity to make a request from our posters with artistic and creative talents. I am in the process of trying to develop some ideas for how to change the board’s default icons to make them look and feel more sci-fi. What I would like to do is request ideas and or graphics from any of you as suggested replacements for the following icons:

There are a few others that I am unable to locate at the moment, but I believe they are the envelopes with the little black dot on them.

Ideas for replacements and or graphic recommendations, which you created yourself or copied from somewhere, are welcomed.

Just so you know - I disabled the icons with the dots on them last night. Apparently they're supposed to denote which threads a user has posted in, but I just found them confusing. :\

I found it useful, to a limited extent. But since I was participating in most every thread (answering questions, offering opionions, etc), it was pretty pointless for me. :)

I'm working on a some graphics for you guys. Would you want to replace the buttons that say "user cp," "register" and all that?

You can make something for those, but I happen to like them as they are. If you do make new ones, try to make them conform to the current color scheme (What we've nick-named the "Glowing Blue" schema)

ok... here are some demo things. There's not a whole big difference, but I only had a few minutes today to work on this. I'll try to do some more things tomorrow if you want me to keep going with this, but here's a quick sneak preview for you to give your opinions on:

The images need a bit of fine tuning, but you get the idea...

The new buttons for the control center and such aren't bad, but the seem a little fuzzy, clarity wise. Its up to you if you want to continue or try something else. Thanks for the preview. :)

Please have another look at my first post and notice that the images I requested have changed. Anyone who may have already made some that I have eliminated from the list is still welcome to post and present them and perhaps they can replace the ones we are currently using.

I was playing around in Photoshop again today after work... The first one has some bizzare white spot, but I can probably fix that later. If any of you guys want to use these I'll touch them up a little more...

They're entirely too large, both in filsize and dimensions. Any banner should be roughly the same size as the one up there and no more than about 15k, at the absolute most.

That's about the best reduction of both file size and dimensions I could do without a complete loss of image quality.
