Aboard the Whaladon



Such an innocuous thing, the shadows. So often overlooked and passed by. While at their base level they were benign, what they could contain was so much more of a worrisome thing. They always held secrets; whether bad or good was up to interpretation. They showed no life of their own yet gave life to the wild imaginations of anyone who passed them by. They breathed life into nightmare, held secrets unknown, and brought out those most primal emotions in all. They held nothing of their own while at the same time enveloping the desires of others. They were a conduit. A pathway. The shadows kept alive the life that others put into them.

So it was now.

So it was that they embraced the waiting wraith of nightmares and misgivings, shrouded the origin of nervous anticipation.

Who would be next to fall prey to the shadows? Who would be next to stumble and disappear into the aether?

Blanketed in the darkness so comforting, the twisted entity of the eater of padawans grinned a feral and expectant grin. The fountain of fear and apprehension lingered in the filtered and recycled air aboard the Whaladon, and the creature in the shadows pulled from each whisp of taxed emotion, feeding upon the tinge of muted desperation that haunted all around.

It was such a tangible thing.

It was such a wondrous, delightful thing.

Patience, however. Patience, as the time to truly feed was not yet within grasp.

Within time.

Within time, the lamb led to sacrifice would present itself...
