Ok so I'm dreadfully behind on this show, like mid season 2, and I was under the false impression that it was ending this season.

Oh, no, it's not, it has been canceled! As in, they pulled the plug and even finished episodes that don't have audio recorded for them yet aren't being finished! :verymad What is this crap?!

And I guess what is in the can already doesn't deal with the fates of certain characters like Ahsoka Tano or Asajj Ventress so really. Wtf Disney??

I am quite happy with the season 5 ending. Sure I want more Clone Wars but the show ended on a high note.

Ahsoka and Ventress fate could be told in another medium or show. It is not bound to the Clone Wars anymore.

So I am kind of on the fence here. Sure I want more but I want more BSG and Buffy as well sometimes. It does not feel like the Sarah Connor Chronicles or Firefly.

I hope they muster together another movie. Season 5 was a solid ending, but I feel like there are maybe a couple of little loose ends that they could weave together to set up Episode III and beyond.

I'm not too worried about Ahsoka or Ventress: like Peter points out, their stories are somewhat independent of the Clone Wars now. Whatever the next animated project is, they could easily show up. Hell, Ahsoka could potentially survive all the way to the new trilogy, and show up as some wise old Jedi in Luke Skywalker's new order or what have you.

So the Clone Wars is getting a finale to wrap up those loose ends. Sort of.

Darth Maul's loose ends anyway.

Haha, get it? Because he was cut in half.

I hate comic book "endings" tacked onto TV shows, btw. I never get to read them so it's just annoying.

Alas no. Not yet. Not sure if they're planning to add it all at some point?

Given how tight Disney seems to be with Netflix lately, I imagine they'll end up on there eventually... but for now, it just sounds like they're going to have the unbroadcast episodes, and some extended/"directors cut" style versions of older episodes from here and there.

Somehow I am not sure if I want to see more clone wars if I can get Rebels very soon. I guess I secretly hope for Ahsoka and Ventress becoming regulars on the new show.

Agreed and [Fives? FIVES?! FIVES!!! NOOOO! At least he is now reunited with his brothers Hevy, Cutup, Droidbait and Echo.]

It is quite a fitting end for the Rookies arch.

Please put spoilers in square brackets like this: (spoiler)(spoiler text in here)(/spoiler). Except substitute the regular brackets for square ones, of course. Otherwise your spoilers show in the activity stream.

The last arc was truely magical. [Yoda meeting his space/darkside Gollum was a bit too close to the LOTR but it worked for me.] I really liked the structure of the last arc. Sending the protagonist to one planet each episode while all planets looked really different. [I found the appearance of Darth Bane on Korriban fairly enjoyable. The alternate reality bits were spot on. The whole what if battle between Yoda and Anakin vs Dooku and Sidious was a nice way to give the Clone Wars it's very own final epic confrontation. I like the idea that Yoda would do the heroic sacrifice to save Anakin and the Jedi Order. The whole fight looked more organic than the force pissing contest we got in Episode 3.]

And now I want to watch Rebels and I still secretly hope for a return of Ahsoka and Ventress in that show.
