Ben Merasska

Ben Merasska grunted, keeping the mask firmly over his face as he looked over the clean mass of wiring under a dorsal panel. The datapad containing the read outs on the Seinar Fleet Systems WR-542 sat next to him on the ship while he scanned the panelling to make sure what he was seeing was what the datapad was showing.
"So... this goes here, and that goes here..." he murmured, elated at finding the inner workings of this particular ship so easy to grasp. Replacing the older routing systems would increase the ship's sublight engine output by almost a percent; no small feat when the ship was already one of the faster vessels in space.
"Okay Xerxes, try a circuit now," he said, pressing the microphone closer to his mouth while looking carefully at the router.
The ship's engines cycled and recycled, humming to life with a clean sound.
"Yep, that ought to do it," he said. "Shut her down and run through the systems again. Let me know what looks like needing replacing."
He stood and stretched, and looked around the largely empty hangar bay. The fighter squadron, one of those with the Rogue Group moniker attached to them, was out doing their patrols and a full flight assessment (that's what they'd been called in his day flying a snub).
The Wheel was as busy as ever, he noted, seeing the crowds of people moving around the entrance to the bay. Quite a few he recognized as Jedi, and many wore the uniforms of the Alliance Navy.
"Huh," he said, picking up the toolbox and walking toward the ladder. He was suddenly left with some downtime he hadn't expected, and now he'd be idle for a bit before he had to leave.
He could nap, but he could always get some on the way to the next job at Ord Mantell, which was a couple weeks away, figuring in all the stops he had in between where he was and where he was going.
Lyanie and Cirr weren't around (both of them going full Aliiance still made him sad), and Saricia was... where was Saricia?
Ben frowned and hopped the last few feet to the deck. Maybe he could look her up? Seized by a desire for company, he put the toolbox away, grabbed a bag and put some items inside, closed up the entrance ramp on the Skipper and strode off into the large ship, wondering where he could find his one time friend.
