Liz and I were just discussing how we should do this again, so let's :smug:

Any suggestions on a book we could read?

Well, considering the Fans Book Club is the literary Field of Dreams, I think the more appropriate question would be: Which author do we want to meet next?

If you read it, they will come!

OOoooooOO!!

Can we also do Google Hangout once a month to discuss?!? (I've seriously been wanting to do a GH book club so bad)

Great idea! We could do that on a weekend that we are not already voice chat Rping.

So excited to be bringing this back. I would suggest The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, purely because it is potentially the best novel I've read in years and I've been meaning to reread it again. :ohno

^ I have no objections to this. Helps that it's canny cheap for Kindle on Amazon UK!

Ah, I have that book, but I never got round to reading it.

Kind of really lame that the Kindle edition is more expensive than the paperback o_O

^ That's bizarre! It's the opposite way around on Amazon UK, but I'm sure I could probably get a second-hand paperback for buttons.

Ah, I have that book, but I never got round to reading it.

I figure this might be the case for a lot of people. It was one of those books that got a lot of good press and I saw on sale lots of times, but just never got around to buying/reading.

I'm totally in :) Will see about getting the book this weekend if that's the one we're going with :)

<strike>Well, I'd love to, but I'm not sure there will be any book money this month. I already got a new pair of shoes so that's pretty much the budget for 'things for holly' :(</strike>

somehow a book has fallen into my ipad :3:

Got my copy, just waiting on my Kindle to charge!

For anyone who didn't see the Google+ invite: I've tentatively schedule a Google Hangout for Sunday 3rd March @ 6:00PM GMT / 1:00PM EST / 10:00AM PST

Good stuff :) Shall we all try and have the book finished by the time of the Hangout?

That sounds reasonable to me.

I have now acquired this book. I haven't read a book in ages because of sickbrain stuff, but I shall endeavour to succeed by March!

I am failing hard core at getting this sucker read... and I just looked at how many pages this thing is!! yeesh...

My version doesn't show pages on Kindle for some reason...just "locations"...all 6,584 of them and I'm at 949! ...pretty darn positive I won't have it finished.

Well, we can all read as far as we can read.. and then chat about it generally? :)

I'm giving the kids a shower but I'll be around for a while (bday party to go to later).

I could put it on now and let you guys watch Olivia for me while I'm getting the other kids cleaned up?

Sorry, I was drinking champagne as you do on a Sunday. I don't even like champagne. But it was there and it led to amazing discussions like this:

"I need more good running music for my new iPod."

"Chariots of Fire?"

"Already got it."

And then there was coordinated high-fives with interlaced-arm champagne drinking.

Ugh I am aware this response has no bearing on this topic, really. But we're still drinking champagne and eating whipping cream. So my head is all bubbly.

But! I did reread the book and also read another book by him afterwards, called The Messenger. So yes.

Um... your book reading skills are CA-RAAAZY! None of us have even gotten close to finishing it... some haven't even started -- lol.

Also, FUN!
