Is anybody else here watching Elementary? I was prepared to hate it since I so adore Sherlock, but I've been very pleasantly surprised. I'm enjoying it a lot. Jonny Lee Miller is playing a great Holmes, and I'm also loving Lucy Liu as Joan Watson. It has some good writing, with twisty turny plots, plus it has some really funny moments as well.

It's well worth a view if you haven't seen it yet!

I saw the first episode and didn't think much of it.

Needs more Moffat :p

I'll consider checking this out. My current standard-bearer is the 'Sherlock' series done by the BBC. Absolutely love Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman their respective roles.

I watch it. It's important not to think its anything like Sherlock. It's a very different take on the character, and the show is enjoyable. That being said, I also watch The Mentalist and there is only a bit of difference between them.

(I still like them both)

It is a procedural starring Sherlock Holmes, not a modern retelling of classic Holmes stories. Sherlock's Holmes is asexual (practically) and odd, Elementary's Holmes is a recovering addict, manic, and is shagging a woman in the pilot.

Jonny Lee Miller is great in the role.
