Thursday, Oct 11
TEN @ PIT WIN - Can Roethlisberger carry the Steelers long enough for them to get their act together?

Sunday, Oct 14
OAK @ ATL WIN - Will the Raiders hold the Falcons under 35?
CIN WIN @ CLE - Hasn't the battle of Ohio already had its annual barnburner?
STL @ MIA WIN - Is the Dolphins' defense back, or did the Bengals just have a bad day on offense last week?
IND @ NYJ WIN - Can the Jets build on their offensive successes in their defeat against Houston?
DET WIN @ PHI - Can the Eagles manage a game that isn't soul-crushingly painful to watch?
DAL @ BAL WIN - Could someone wake me up when this is over?
KC @ TB WIN - Can I come up with anything remotely insightful about these teams? Apparently not.

BUF @ ARI WIN - Will Kevin Kolb survive another game behind that O-line?
NE WIN @ SEA - Will the Seahawks continue making me look silly? Considering who they're playing, I hope so!
NYG WIN @ SF - Will Alex Smith's broken finger hurt the 49ers' offense?
MIN @ WAS WIN - Can the Ponder/Peterson combination keep up with RG3?

GB @ HOU WIN - Can JJ Watts do to Rodgers what Chris Clemons did in Seattle?

Monday, Oct 15
DEN WIN @ SD - Does Peyton Manning still have the Chargers' number?

Whoops, forgot:

TEN @ PIT (W)

Sunday, Oct 14
OAK @ ATL (W) - Oakland is a mess, ATL looks good.
CIN (W) @ CLE - After a tough loss to the Dolphins the Bengals should take the Browns easily.
STL @ MIA (W) - I have trouble picking Miami, wouldn't be surprised if they win 4 or 8 this year.
IND (W) @ NYJ - I don't even... ugh.
DET (W)@ PHI - toss up, both teams are a mixed mess.
DAL @ BAL (W) - toss up.
KC @ TB (W) - KC is a mess but TB could blow it.

BUF @ ARI (W) - Buffalo is bad
NE (W) @ SEA - too many questions at QB in Seattle.
NYG @ SF (W) - I hate picking anything involving the Giants. They're so random.
MIN (W) @ WAS - MIN is playing competent football and they have purple jesus back.

GB @ HOU (W) - Houston is the more complete team but they're down a linebacker. GB is already injured and lacking weapons.

Monday, Oct 15
DEN (W) @ SD - Chargers were Real Bad last week.

Pittsburgh for Thursday game.

Dragon

So, I just realized tonight's game is Pittsburgh at Tennessee, not Tennessee at Pittsburgh. My apologies if you picked the Steelers because you thought they were at home... Of course, since we all picked the Steelers, let's just hope they hold on and win. ^_^;

EDIT: Well, that was a frustrating loss. This is feeling a lot like the 2009 season for the Steelers... little consistency on either side of the ball, no delivery from the defense in clutch situations, bad mistakes and missed opportunities, especially on the road. Injuries are definitely contributing to the lack of consistency on defense, just as they did in 2009, but it seems more like they're fundamentally out of rhythm.

Another similarity to 2009 - Roethlisberger is having a fantastic fantasy year.

Re: the Cowboys. Never have I seen such scintillating late-game heroics paired with such jaw-dropping stupidity.

So...it looks like picking on the fly over the course of about 60 seconds isn't a very effective way to go. :lol :ohno :mischief

Although you have to admit there were at least a couple of upsets today, like the Seahawks beating the Patriots.

Not sure anyone expected the Browns or the Jets to win either.

Dragon
Oct 15th, 2012, 03:28:20 PM
I picked the Jets! Actually, I didn't think it was much of a longshot. Yes, the Jets are bad, but the Colts are coming off a 2-14 season, and they were playing on the road with a rookie quarterback. It was a game the Jets are more than capable of losing, but it was also a serious opportunity for them to finally put something together.

Also, bad news for the Ravens, and for the entire league. Lardarius Webb and Ray Lewis both left the Cowboys game with serious injuries, and now the Ravens have announced that both will be out for the remainder of the season. That's bad enough in Webb's case, but you have to wonder if the 37-year-old Lewis will be coming back next year. As a lifelong Steelers fan, Lewis has been the object of both my frustration and admiration, and he is undoubtedly one of the all-time greats. It would be a genuine shame to see his career end on an injury.

Good grief, this week was absolutely brutal for us! Granted, maybe we shouldn't feel too bad since, just like us, only two teams in the entire AFC own a winning record this week. This season has been wild, wooly, and unpredictable, even without the influence of the replacement refs.
