Hey all! I usually don't post ads here, but several people have asked me about miniatures and painting and I know a bunch of you play RPGs and the like where minis can help out.

So Reaper miniatures started up a Kickstarter for a new line of products. Currently there is less than two days left so sorry about the short notice.

They have raised nearly 2 million USD from their original goal of 30k.

The cool thing is that with the $100 pledge you get a crap-ton (over 200) miniatures varying from Orcs, to sci-fi marines, to dragons, to who-knows-what-else.

And at each milestone, they add more minis to the $100 level rewards.

For example currently if they hit 2,060,000 USD, a male and female Storm Giant will be added to the $100 pledge level. Considering minis are usually $3-$12 USD, $100 up front for 200+ minis is a huge deal.

On top of that at each milestone, a special model (usually very large, that usually cost $30-$50) is also release for an added fee and you can always pledge extra ($5-$15) to increase the number of minis for a particular group ($6 to get 6 more marines for example).

So if you're looking for a deal on miniatures and helping to kickstart a new product line, pitch in!

For example what I'm doing

Vampire Level ($100 for ~200+ models) + Figure Case & Trays ($25 for a case to carry/protect about 150 models) + Clockwork Dragon ($15 for a huge Clockwork Dragon model with a 7-9 inch wingspan) + Nethyrmaul ($25 for an absolutely massive dragon + scenic base) = $165

Plus I'm thinking of maybe picking up the Frost Giant pair ($10) and maybe the Undead Giant ($10) or Red Dragon ($10).

Hit the $2,060,000 mark which adds a Male and Female frost giant to the Vampire reward package.

Surprisingly the kickstarter is on track to hit the $2,240,000 milestone to add a quarter of halfling heroes to the package.

It's fascinating to see how fast the number of investors (and hence dollar signs) increase. I think it put on nearly $100,000 in the last 16 hours.

Comes out to an average of $192 per person, though I know there are several individuals (and even game stores) that have put several thousand dollars into this.

Very interesting way to run a business model and method to start a new product line. I've never paid attention to kickstarter before.....maybe they have something going for them.

2.44 mil reached. Golems and Necromancers added to the Vampire pledge level. The golems are a bit 'meh' in my opinion, but the necromancer models are sexy as all hell.

Those are kinda sexy.

It's neat to see projects like this doing so well.

Yup and they just closed out at the #3 highest fundraiser at just over 2.42 mil.

And the final model? A giant (~8 inch tall) Cthulu model! Squeeee~

The big three models I'm really looking forward to:
