Under a half-filled glass the flier lay on the counter. Happy hour was two hours ago and the pool table was surrounded. The bar was dark. The owner didn’t sweat the light bill or buy many light bulbs. ART JONES had to tended the dingy pub. Art cleaned the bar top. He rinsed the shot glasses. And, he re-organized the bottles before checking the taps. All while serving drinks. Most orders were on a tab. When the night ended the customers would grumble and pay. In the meantime, Art watched.
