What is tinychat?

- It's a free chat program, were lots of people can come in, chat on cams or text. You can be on cam or just on mic if you're shy!

Why is there a tinychat thread?

Because I think we need an alternative to google+ chat, since only 10 people can be in the chat at once. Tinychat can have 12 cams on, with unlimited people in the room. There's a whiteboard as well, for people who are artistically inclined.

You don't need an account to use tinychat, or have to install anything to use it. When you come into the room, you'll be prompted to sign in using social media accounts, but you can sign in as a guest without using any personal information. Just type a name into the box and you're good to go!

If more people use it, I can make some people moderators. Mods are good for fixing frozen cams, killing ghosting accounts and banning people if necessary. I'm not really worried about people misbehaving - the only rule is no nudity/gore, since that can get the room shut down and you banned from cam for 3 days.

Maybe we can have some kind of special events in chat - I've been to drinking contests and had people play music in chat before. If anyone has an suggestions, post them!


Tide - If people would prefer to have the chat room private, I can add a password. Right now the room isn't on any of the search lists on the site.

Some notes - I've set it so open mic is an option.

To broadcast - hit start broadcasting, select your camera and mic, select push to talk or open mic, and bingo.

There is a main chat volume on the bottom of the chat box, and individual volumes when you click "interact" on each of the cam windows.

Heh, it's ok I totally understand that. It was just weird because I came back from afk and wrote something and then suddenly it filled in a bunch of text and you guys signed out. So there was some sort of delay in messages getting to me for some reason and I'd actually been alone for some time and didn't know it lol.

we might want to stick to AIM for the actual typed chat. The message length limitation and it's general buggyness is a turnoff

If you're in another tab or window, the chat sort of fast forwards. It's hilarious when the cams do it, lol. I've never had it happen with the actual text tho.
