What's a Nerd event without awesome and amazing food?

ATL

Gladys and Ron's Chicken and Waffles (http://gladysandron.net/) - Because it's not a trip to ATL without chicken and waffles.

Straits (http://www.straitsatl.com/) - Singaprean place, owned by Ludacris.

Tuscaloos/Birmingham

FLIP (http://www.flipburgerboutique.com/) - Liquid nitrogen foi gras milkshakes and amazing gourmet burgers? Yes please!

Ollie Irene (http://www.ollieirene.com/) - Their drinks are AMAZING and their food is out of this world.

Sitar Indian Cuisine (http://sitartuscaloosa.com/) - This is our favorite place to go, and we are actually regulars here.

Super Oriental Market (http://superorientalmarket.com/index.html) - Not only is there a ton of stuff in the market, but the attached restaurant is fantastic. Whenever I get cravings for Szechuan style pork intestines, this is where I demand to go.

Sumo (http://esumo.attwebsites.com/) - This has always been our go-to place for sushi. And if you're not keen on that, their menu has a lot of other great stuff as well.

There's also going to be a lot of cooking at home going on, so don't forget about that :)

You can bet your ass that we'll be smoking ribs and eating BBQ like fools, and I'll be making a vat of pasta sauce for a day. Fresh baked bread, veggies from the garden, all that good stuff.

So! If you've got a mind to do some cooking yourselves, join us in the kitchen :)

Also, Flip.

We may wanna add Straits for ATL grub. Owned by Ludacris. Singaporean food mostly.

There is probably a taco barrio cruise in our future too

We can, if folks want. There's a really nice place in Tuscaloosa called Opus. I've only been there once, but it was quite tasty.

Of course, there's also Avo, which gets my vote :)

Liquid nitrogen, you say? :ohno

I've never had fois gras or sushi before, so I'm all up for something trying then! Charley and Christin have a standing challenge to find foods I'm not willing to try. :uhoh

Opus I would not suggest because it's not super amazing and Avo might be too expensive. We could do the Hot & Hot Fish Club, since Chris Hastings did beat the asshole Bobby Flay on Iron Chef. Of course any of the Frank Stitt joints are also top notch. If we wanna eat nice in Tuscaloosa I'd suggest Epiphany over Opus IMHO but really, the nicer top end places are in Birmingham

Also request that the ribs be partly beef, so that I can eat them.

If earlybirds want to go with me one saturday morning to a pepper place farmer's market, y'all are welcome to come. Christin hates going but its pretty fun if you are ok with the occasional hipster and silverhair who walks their dogs with clothes on in public.
