“When you see this movie, kids will believe one day that these turtles do exist, when we’re done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race, and they’re going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable.” - Michael Bay

My hatred for Michael Bay has reached new heights. I didn't think that was possible.

The Turtles are ninjas.
Ninjas don't have explosions.

How is Michael Bay even remotely qualified to direct this? :cyduck

Turtles aren't aliens! They're animals!

er... amphibians? Critters?

Anyway, mutants. MUTANTS. Not Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles. :colbert

I didn't even bother watching the video.

Michael Bay... gradually working his way through your childhood, taking a steaming explosive dump on everything you once loved.

Also the movie will apparently be called just Ninja Turtles. Not even teenagers anymore. Middle Aged, World-Weary Ninja Turtles.

WOW first you get me excited and now I want to hide in a corner and cry. I think the best news here is that we do not need to watch another Transformers movie.

Michael Bays reaction to fan anger:

'Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story.

'Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.'

With ONE of the original creators. This means that it was so terribly bad that the other would have no part of it and wouldn't sign off on it, while the first is desperate for a paychech.

This is actually an even worse sign than before.

How about Bay realizes that when there's a massive fan backlash, it's because we honestly don't like what he's doing, and it's a bad idea?

Nah, that doesn't explode, so he can't understand that.

I love ancient aliens and I LOVE that guy. :love

as for Bay's response. Yeah. He can go suck it.

My highly serious input on the matter. (http://v.cdn.cad-comic.com/comics/cad-20120323-003b8.png)

C'mon... tell me it didn't make you think that too?

This project has been put on indefinite hold due to "script issues"

Thank the heavens. Even all these months later I still think trying to cast the turtles as 'aliens' is a monumentally stupid idea.

To me, he just wants to make a movie about fun-loving aliens who live in New York and fight crime but couldn't be arsed to come up with his own IP, so he just decided to butcher an existing one. Again!

So, um, I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I heard this is back on, and that Megan Fox is cast as April O'Neil. Apparently she and Bay got over...whatever their issue was. I really really don't know about this. I can't think of who I'd cast instead of her, but I know very definitively that I would never ever under any circumstances pick Megan Fox to be April O'Neil (or any female cartoon/comic book character that I love).

On the upswing, I hear the ooze origin is back on, just that ooze is produced by aliens (which was the original way of it anyhow).

Why would they even... I cannot imagine this casting working well.

She apologized to Michael Bay for her comments about calling him a Nazi, after she realized that she isn't really that marketable.

But it could be worse casting. Could be Kristen Stewart. :x

And I thought my post was terrifying. Damn, that's a scary thought.
