When I saw Ralph McQuarrie trending on Twitter, I knew it could only mean one thing...he passed away today, announced on the home page of his website.

Needless to say, I've always loved his artwork, and no matter where I've lived over the years, I've always had a framed version of this piece hanging in my living room:
