I'm putting it to a vote here. I'm trying to decide who should be my third favorite NFL team, behind #1 for the TB Bucs, and #2 for the SEA Seahawks. I've narrowed it down to four teams, and I'd like everyone's input on here as to who should be my 3rd favorite NFL team, as quite frankly I can't seem to make up my mind.

I'm going to go with the Texans. I've been a Steelers fan my whole life, and there's no competition for their place in my heart as an NFL fan, but I got to see the Texans begin to make headway as a franchise in 2008 and 2009 while I was getting my master's at Texas Tech. They were a fun, exciting team without all the prima donna egotistical nonsense afflicting that other team in Texas, and this year they took the next step in a big way. With some brilliant personnel moves and great coaching, they added an all-pro defense to an already potent offense and not only reached the playoffs but competed at a high level despite a long list of injuries.

Granted, the Texans don't have half the tradition and history of any of those other teams on the list, even the Ravens, who are only six years older as a franchise. If you're interested in league history, I'd steer you toward the team that used to be called the Dallas Texans - the Kansas City Chiefs. They were an original AFL team and a divisional foe of the LA Chargers, Oakland Raiders, and Denver Broncos. Their founder, Lamar Hunt, was not only instrumental in the establishment of the AFL and its eventual merger with the NFL; he friggin named the Super Bowl, and his name has been on the AFC Championship trophy since 1984. Only a handful of AFC teams can compete with that kind of tradition.

I can't vote, I'm too disgusted by the fact you have picked the Seahawks as your second favorite :x
