OAK @ SD Win - This really depends on how Palmer and Rivers play. If either one plays exceptionally well they will win.

ARI @ PHI Win - Arizona isn't very good.
TEN @ CAR Win - I dunno. Picking Carolina because.
HOU Win @ TB - Houston is solid.
WAS Win @ MIA - gonna keep betting against Miami, although they could win this.
STL @ CLE Win - sheesh, picking the home team.
BUF @ DAL Win - Which Dallas we getting here?
PIT @ CIN Win - This is going to be interesting.
JAX Win @ IND - Jacksonville has this Maurice Jones-Drew. Indy theoretically could win this.
DEN @ KC Win- uhhh uhmmm uhh
NO @ ATL Win- Atlanta plays better at home, but NO is a strong possibility.

BAL Win@ SEA - sorry Seahawks, you are the weaker bird.
DET @ CHI Win - UPSET
NYG @ SF Win- San Fran is playing very consistently and their defense looks nasty.
NE @ NYJ Win - Barf. If Martyball calls some passes the Jests should be able to win this. Ughghghghhg I hate the Jets.

Monday, Nov 14
MIN @ GB Win - Ponder this: Aaron Rodgers is playing lights out and probably has the best receiving corps in the league. Lambeau Leaps for Everyone!

I am going with San Diego. I can't see Oakland winning considering how bad they have played the last two weeks. Palmer gave that game to Denver. I think Oakland made a huge mistake in getting him.

Bolts win.

OAK @ SD (W) - Make or break time for both teams. San Diego had a shot to beat Green Bay, even with Rivers making mistakes. Oakland just looked bad at times against Denver.

Thursday, Nov 10
OAK @ SD WIN - Each team is capable of losing to the other. However, San Diego has more playmakers, especially with McFadden out, and they have the home field.

Incidentally, anyone looked at the AFC standings this week?

AFC East
Patriots: 5-3
Jets: 5-3
Bills: 5-3
Dolphins: 1-7

AFC North
Bengals: 6-2
Ravens: 6-2
Steelers: 6-3
Browns: 3-5

AFC South
Texans: 6-3
Titans: 4-4
Jaguars: 2-6
Colts: 0-9

AFC West
Chargers: 4-4
Chiefs: 4-4
Raiders: 4-4
Broncos: 3-5

That's three divisions with a three-way tie for first (granted, the Steelers are a half-game back in the North). Only the Texans have an exclusive first-place spot, and the Broncos of all teams are only one game out of the division lead! That's a heck of a first half of the season.

What's even more screwy... if the regular season ended today, the Cincinnati Bengals would be the AFC's #1 seed.

The winner of the AFC west could go 8-8. I don't think Denver could win it because their defense is horrible and I still think Tebow is a horrible QB.

Okay, Carson Palmer, now you're just being contrarian, doing the opposite of what everybody picks you to do. I was going to ask for everybody to include their Thursday picks with their Sunday/Monday picks to make it easier for me to score them, but since everyone picked the Chargers, it's a moot point now.

Yikes, a lot of close match-ups this week...

Sunday, Nov 13
ARI @ PHI WIN - This just in, Philly has a running game.
TEN @ CAR WIN - Cam's strengths should play to Tennessee's weaknesses.
HOU WIN @ TB - Houston keeps rolling toward their first playoff berth.
WAS WIN @ MIA - The Redskins are capable of throwing this game away like the Chiefs did last week.
STL WIN @ CLE - With teams as crap as these two, playmakers take over. The Browns have no answer for Steven Jackson and Brandon Lloyd.
BUF WIN @ DAL - The Bills need to prove they can gut out a tough win over a team not known for doing that.
PIT WIN @ CIN - Must-win for Pittsburgh if they want a chance at the division title.
JAX WIN @ IND - The Jaguars are salivating at the chance to play the Colts without Manning.
DEN @ KC WIN - Heck, this could be a blowout either way. Both teams have plenty to play for; it depends who shows up.
NO WIN @ ATL - Really could go either way. The Saints are vulnerable defensively.

BAL WIN @ SEA - Even if the Ravens are as flat against the Seahawks as they were against the Titans following their victory over the Steelers, they should win.
DET @ CHI WIN - Pretty evenly matched division game.
NYG @ SF WIN - The Giants aren't up for two tough victories in a row.
NE WIN @ NYJ - So, what's Belichick's record after losing two in a row?

Monday, Nov 14
MIN @ GB WIN - Crazy things happen in divisional games, but the Vikings don't have the firepower to keep up with the Packers.

Anyone get the full DET/CHI game? Just wondering if Detroit was that bad, or if Chicago just played that well.

Dragon
Nov 13th, 2011, 08:27:26 PM
I got it, but I couldn't really stand to watch it. Detroit was awful in just about every way they could be, and before the end of the third quarter the game just disintegrated entirely. Give credit to the Bears for executing, but it was a high-pressure divisional game for a young team on the road, and the Lions couldn't handle it. Once things started turning bad, Detroit lost all discipline, and it just kept getting worse.

Nick Fairley will be hearing from the league about that late hit on Cutler, to be sure.

Um... we were picking for each other! Yeah, that's the ticket. I picked the Eagles on your behalf, and you picked the Seahawks on mine... :uhoh

I guess all we can do is root for the Vikings and hope Kyran's streak goes down, too. ;)

Terrible news for the Texans - Matt Schaub is out for the season with a lisfranc injury. This team may still be talented enough to coast into the playoffs under Matt Leinart, especially in that division, but it's hard to see them getting very far. It's too bad; they've been looking great the past couple of weeks and were poised to get even better with Andre Johnson returning from a hamstring injury.

A compilation of everyone's scores. Seems everyone picked SD, BAL, and PHI to win their games. :\ Also, Mu missed a week (unless I'm missing her post) and jjwr didn't pick a winner for the BAL-SEA game.

Ah, thanks! My only quibbles are that Lykaios was actually 6-10, and by our rules if you don't pick you get the worst record minus one, so that would give Mu a record of 5-11. Yikes, this week was brutal! I don't recall seeing another week where our average was under .500!

1. Rutabaga: 100-46
