If SWTOR was being developed by Sony Online, I could understand that statement. But it's not.

SWTOR is however a MMO, which in more than 95% of cases is terrible, disappoints, or generally is a horrific experience at launch. There is a large number of things that could go wrong. Being Bioware does not make them immune to failure, since they never even made a MMO before.

Despite beta testing, there's always new issues at launch, that goes without saying. But that's not enough to keep me from playing from Day 1. I don't want to be finding out about all the cool content second-hand, I want to be there when it first happens, carving out my own online legacy without being influenced by weeks or even months of online stories form other players.

Rather than a new forum, it might be worth just adding in a SWTOR topic tag. Sure, we've already got the MMO one... but having a unique TOR tab would let you filter the Gaming forum for only TOR threads, and let you find stuff easy-peasy.

Bioware screwed up Dragon Age 2 and they have no experience with MMOs as a company so they are not without flaws.

After all the time we have been waiting to play this game, year and years, I can't imagine not playing it on release.

For people who haven't pre-ordered, what is making you hesitate?
My biggest issue personally is that I tend to need real-life gaming buddies to also be playing with so I have someone I can talk about it face-to-face with. Right now some of my friends have chatted about the game but there's been a few 'don't know if I'll have the time to play' type talk which is why I'm a bit hesitant.

Besides, I tend to like waiting a month or so (at least) after a new game is released just so I can get an idea of how good/bad the game actually is.
