The 'other' Snow White movie coming out next year, directed by Tarsem Singh of The Cell, The Fall (really, if you haven't watched this movie and a little surrealism doesn't put you off, you should find it asap), and the upcoming Immortals. It stars Julia Roberts as the evil queen, Lily Collins as Snow White, some actual little people as the dwarves, Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as the Prince, and Nathan Lane as.... someone in a wig.

Don't worry, it's for a masquerade, so it's location appropriate! Julia's red dress is apparently the Queen's masquerade costume.

I love Snow White's blue dress in that photo of her with all the dwarves. Its so gorgeous. :3 Eiko Ishioka is an Oscar winning designer who is doing the costumes - she worked on The Cell and The Fall as well as Bram Stoker's Dracula.

I think it opened today? Or next week.

I want to see it though. :3 It looks like fun.

The tone of the trailer was not at all what I was expecting from this... feels a little like a bad live-action version of Shrek, almost >_<

I know, I wasn't initially thinking it was going to be a comedy, but it is, and I think I'll like it. :D

Two movies catering to totally different types of people - and both likely to get smacked down by week two of the Hunger Games.
