Out of the blue, it has been decided we're getting a puppy. I have been asked to think of a name for him. If you know me at all, you know that I am a little obsessive about naming things (I spend way too much time getting the 'right' name for my RPing characters) so I was hoping that you guys might be able to provide me with some ideas for names!

So far, all I have thought of is Lupin and Chewie.

I don't have a picture of the puppy we're getting, but it's a Border Terrier, like this:

Well, there's always a nice large pool of Greek and Roman deities to choose from :)

Pratchett - in honor of Terry Pratchett. Heck, choosing any name from one of his books would be awesome too :)
NIMH
Tater - since Liz named one of her cats Yams, another tuber vegetable name to match might be fun :)
Butters
Svengali

I did think about Gaspode too. It's a breed of dog that has an air of the Gaspode-esque about it!

Butters

Me and the boy second this one XD

Chewbacca is also good. :3

Yeah... I can't think of anything else.

I'm being told I can't name it Chewbacca :( apparently it needs to be a name that can be easily shouted out in the street. What's so hard about Chewy?!

Chewie would've been perfect, too. :(

Taking into account your interests the first name that comes to mind is Rory. That little dude up there could be a Rory. :)

I second Rory!

Alternatively, Rigel. It's a star... and also an alien who farts helium. I dunno about your particular puppy, but the border terrier a friend of mine had used to fart a lot.

I'd call it 'No'. That's always fun to shout.

I liked the name Rory, but by the time I woke up this morning they'd already been to pick him up and named him! :o So our little puppy is called Bryn:

Here he is meeting our cat, Thomas. So far, Thomas has only given him a smack once!

He's always been that size! And the tie always fit him pretty snugly ^_^;

Ha! I guess I just never noticed his size ^_^;

I do like the comparison of Thomas' dainty little girl-paws and Bryn's manly-man paws for some reason though :D

So far today he's eaten a bowl of the cats food and also tried to eat the cats tail. So much for thinking Thomas would bully him!

Cute puppy! I like the name Bryn, although Chewie would have been a good name too. But of course, I'm biased since one of my cats is named Chewie. :D

Rename Thomas as "Thomas the Butter Cat"

Indeed.

You'd never guess that he ate less than any cat we've ever had before. All he has is a cup of biscuits a day. He won't eat any actual meat/fish/wet food @_@

So how much does Thomas weigh? I need to know if he can knock the 'fattest cat' crown off of Taylor. :D (Taylor is 28.5 lbs)

Dasquian Belargic
Sep 13th, 2011, 02:05:30 PM
The only time he gets weighed is at the vets so I'm not sure!

James Prent

Do you have a scale in your house? I did the weigh-myself-then-weigh-myself-holding-the-cat thing to find out.

I might have to try that tomorrow. He's asleep for the evening now and I don't want to wake him, not after Bryn has been hassling him all day :lol

That picture of Thomas reminds me of a similar pic of another chubby cat at I Can Has Cheezburger that was captioned, "Bring me Solo and the Wookiee!" :lol

I just wanna skritch that tummy, he's very handsome. :)

Bryn = brow (as in eyebrow) in Norwegian.

It can also be a verb, in the context "noe å bryne seg på", which means to face a challenging problem or puzzle (presumably as you squint your eyebrows). :)

^ Those were my thoughts exactly! But by the time I stopped laughing my ass off and found a little figurine of Luke to pose with him, Thomas had gotten offended and left my room :lol

I just spotted this post - it's so apt! He spends all day frowning :lol
