So, one of the ideas thrown about in the Alliance vs. Jedi thread was that the revelation of a Sith in the ranks of the Alliance provokes a sort of witch hunt on the Wheel for more Dark Sider influence. That would be a big deal for this character, as she is a member of Kuklos Ataxia spying on the Jedi on behalf of her master, Lilaena De'Ville, and Darth Callidus.

I could see this going down in one of two ways:

1. Someone snooping around uncovers some questionable items in Akasha's past and launches an investigation into her specifically. The course of the inquiry could cast doubt on a few people closely associated with her, like Kala and Tionne, and possibly even Solomon. The suspicion could snowball or it could stay relatively contained to just her.

2. There is a general investigation that calls a number of Jedi into question. Serena for her long incarceration among the Imperials, Solomon for his past brush with the Dark Side and his unorthodox beliefs, Daria and Navaria for their relationship, etc.... Akasha ends up caught in the wash of moral ambiguity.

Either approach could be a great story, but either one needs a chief inquisitor. Whether it's a formal hearing or just some low-profile paranoia, someone needs to be the voice of suspicion. Exposing Akasha could either be the climax of the story or the bombshell that is used to justify more invasive investigations.

Any ideas?

No ideas to put out yet, just a request that you drag Jamis along for the ride whether he wants to go or not :)

Adia for being a former Imperial Spy (well, that's what most people know). Only a select few in Alliance Intelligence would know she was the Emperor's Hand.

2 has the most wide reaching implications and opportunity.

Absolutely. The choice has more to do with whether we can gather enough impetus to make this a story that truly engulfs the Wheel. I prefer that to just making it about Akasha. :)

Our inquisitor could be someone from Alliance Intel, or it could be someone within the Jedi ranks. I think ideally it should be a joint investigation between an Intel spook and a Jedi. They don't have to have the same ideas about what they're looking for; that'll be all part of the conflict.

/agree!

The complication with 2 is that, the more people who get involved, the more taxing it will be for said investigator, and the more protracted the thread. Maybe having more than one investigator (if possible) would make it easier? That way you can split over more than one thread, and make it seem like a more far-reaching doodad?

It would probably make sense where each investigator only had 1 or 2 people to investigate.

I like this plan a lot!

I'm willing to create a one-off character to represent the Alliance's interests in these hearings, unless someone else is very much interested in the role. I talked to Jenny, and she's interested in Daria participating in the investigation. I think there's easily room for one more Jedi to join the panel.

I'm envisioning a series of hearings where individual Jedi are called in to account for any irregularities that turned up in the investigation, and to give testimony on anyone else who's been called into question. Obviously there can be threads surrounding the hearings, too - whether they deal with independent investigations on the side or just nervous Jedi reacting to what's starting to look a lot like a witch hunt.

Any other ideas on how we can develop/escalate this are welcome. I know that Solomon, for one, will object to the whole proceeding and cooperate under protest.

If there's anything questionable to be found on the Wheel, rest assured that I will find it.

I certainly have the nose for it...

Well, I'm definitely in. I'm sure I'll be under suspicion for having been found on Rhen Var and needing 'rescue' from the Imperials under shady circumstances.

Interrogate me if you must, but I assure you my time within the Empire was with only the most honest and Jedi-like of intentions.
