The mayor is a class A douchebag - and I say that as a cyclist who thinks nothing of 50 km a day.

My bike was my sole means of transportation when I was living in Seattle, and that right there was a daily fantasy of mine. Gave me a good chuckle :D

And Mark, you do know that it's a PR stunt meant to illustrate that motorists who obstruct bike lines will have harsher punishments levied on them, right?

Saw that yesterday - I thought it was hilarious. They bought the car specifically for the stunt, its not like he went and ran over someone's car (although that would also be hilarious). The people who had the Rolls parked there the day before were probably sweating bullets.

Sometimes a visual lesson will sink home better than any amount of paper tickets.

There is something very satisfying about seeing an expensive car crushed beneath a tank!

I can't hate running over a car with a tank, and if you do, shame on you!

Yes, indeed I do. Mayor is a douchbag cycling nazi, the kind that gives good cyclists a bad name

Bike lanes have NO place in a space shared with cars (as our example shows), I have the scars (and bike repair bill) to prove it. So instead of being a mega twat with a stupid stunt, maybe he can.... I dunno..... build physical seperatated bike / car lanes? It's a god awful load safer for all concerned and no stupid stunts needed. As much as the new Sydney bike lanes are horribly designed, the fact that they give a physical seperation at least makes them safe. Oddly, the Lord Mayor of Sydney is in herself a cycling nazi douchbag, but at least she doesnt like being hit by cars

It's not, really. Not here anyway.
