One of my favorite TV actors have died

He will always be remembered as playing Columbo, but he was a very funny actor and had many other great performances. He will be missed.

Also was great in the original In-Laws. He'd been suffering from dementia in recent years, but it's still sad to hear.

Ditto. I know 99% of people think of Peter Falk as Columbo, but for me, he will always be Professor Fate's loyal henchman, Max.

I too mostly remember him from the awesome TV series Columbo. But I seen him in many movies as well. Among other films, he starred in one of my all time favorite comedies, "Murder by Death". Here is a clip:

He was great in Murder By Death. It just shows he has a huge range as an actor.

When I was in college my best friend and I were huge Columbo fans. We'd occasionally blow off class and nurse hang overs and while watching Columbo movies in our apartment. I've got the first 5 or 6 DVD sets and I'm going to be re-watching them later this summer. I knew he'd been ill, but didn't know it was dementia. I'll miss the man, the actor, the trenchcoat, and the joy he gave. RIP Lieutenant.
